Do you want to work close to the business, customers, and some of BAE Systems Bofors' largest and most complex contracts? BAE Systems Bofors is in a period of strong development. In a world where defense capabilities are high on the agenda, both the business and international collaborations are growing. Behind our deliveries are extensive deals, long-term customer relationships, and agreements where commercial, technical, and legal perspectives need to meet. That's the environment you'll enter as a Contract Manager. Here you'll follow the deal from quotation and negotiation to signed contract and execution. You'll become part of an established team with eight Contract Managers and work closely with both customers and partners as well as colleagues across different parts of BAE Systems Bofors. – As a Contract Manager, you're where the business is actually shaped. You need to understand both the customer's and our own business perspective, see opportunities and risks, and help us land in good and sustainable deals. That makes the role both broad and very exciting, says Erik Wahman, Head of Contracts at BAE Systems Bofors. From quotation to execution As a Contract Manager, you're responsible for the commercial aspects of our quotations and contracts. You enter early in the process and work together with market, projects, finance, technology, and legal teams to create sustainable solutions. An important part of the role is customer dialogue. You actively participate in customer meetings, prepare and conduct contract negotiations, and work on reviewing, understanding, and formulating commercial terms. Once the contract is in place, your responsibility continues through project execution, where you help ensure that what we've agreed upon is also complied with. The role thus combines structure and precision with relationships, communication, and negotiation. – This suits you if you enjoy the combination of business, people, and structure. One day you might dive deep into a contract clause, and the next you might be in a negotiation with an international customer. You don't need to know everything from the start, but you need to be curious, want to understand the business, and feel comfortable taking responsibility, Erik continues. An experienced team with many contact points You'll be one of nine Contract Managers in a team where there's both knowledge and colleagues to discuss issues and challenges with. This recruitment is to replace a colleague leaving the role, which means you'll enter an established function with clear work processes and broad experience. At the same time, you'll have significant individual responsibility. Our deals are often extensive and long-term, and you'll be an important link between the customer and the internal organization. The ability to build trust, understand different perspectives, and stand firm on commercial matters is therefore central. BAE Systems Bofors operates in an international market and the role involves approximately 5–7 trips per year, both within and outside Sweden. Examples of what you'll work on Draw up and prepare commercial aspects of quotations. Actively participate in customer meetings and business dialogues. Prepare and conduct contract negotiations. Review, interpret, and manage commercial contract terms. Take responsibility for commercial aspects during contract writing. Ensure compliance with agreed contracts during project execution. Create and maintain customer orders and billing plans. Be a contact point for customers and partners. Work closely with projects, market, finance, technology, and other parts of the business. Who are we looking for? We're looking for someone with relevant academic education, such as in law, economics, or marketing. You might also have a technical education background combined with experience in and a clear interest in commercial matters. You have a few years of relevant work experience and ideally have worked with agreements, quotations, customer relationships, or other commercial issues. Experience with contract terms and negotiation is highly meritorious, as is experience with SAP or knowledge of export control. Since the role involves both internal and international contact points, you need to communicate very well in Swedish and English, both spoken and written. As a person, you enjoy diving into complex issues and creating structure when multiple perspectives need to be weighed. You're responsible and independent while also enjoying working with others. In customer dialogues and negotiations, you're confident and communicative, with the ability to adapt your communication to the situation and audience. Great emphasis will be placed on your personal qualities. Working at BAE Systems Bofors We want to create good conditions for both development and a sustainable work life.
