Do you enjoy being behind the wheel and are looking for a driver job with a fixed schedule, four workdays a week with no overnight stays? Ville Carlssons Åkeri is now hiring a lot operator based in Mariestad with the Skara District as your work area. Here you'll get independent and varied work where driving is combined with loading, unloading, and customer contact.
About Us
We are an well-established transport company with about 40 employees and operations at several locations throughout Sweden. Our headquarters is in Östersund and we also have operations in Mariestad, Jönköping, Göteborg, and Karlstad.
As a transport partner to DSV, we currently operate 11 fixed routes for freight transport between several locations in Sweden. Quality, safety, and delivery precision characterize our work every day – and form the foundation of our motto: We deliver!
For us, that means more than transporting goods from one place to another. It's about taking responsibility for the entire chain and ensuring together that our customers receive their deliveries on time, undamaged, and with good service.
Regardless of your role with us, you are an important part of the whole. Our operations are built on taking responsibility for our work, collaborating, and helping each other to create a well-functioning transport chain.
Job Responsibilities
As a lot operator you are based in Mariestad and work in the Skara District. You work independently receiving our long-haul vehicles and are responsible for ensuring goods are loaded and unloaded at the terminal or directly at the customer's location. You ensure that goods are handled safely and efficiently so that transports can continue according to plan.
Your work includes:
transporting and delivering goods within the Skara District
loading and unloading long-haul vehicles at the terminal and at customer locations
stowing and handling goods in a safe and efficient manner
ensuring proper load securing
inspecting goods and noting any damage or discrepancies
reporting discrepancies and cargo damage
planning and conducting your routes in a traffic-safe and efficient manner
maintaining ongoing contact with customers and colleagues
Although you work independently in your district, you maintain ongoing contact with colleagues in Jönköping and Göteborg. Together you coordinate work and help each other when needed.
About You
We're looking for someone who is confident behind the wheel and enjoys independent and varied work. You are thorough and organized and understand the importance of handling goods carefully, safely, and correctly.
In this role you meet our customers every day. Therefore, it's important that you are service-oriented and have a professional and friendly manner. You can adapt to different situations and communicate clearly with both customers and colleagues.
You are also solution-oriented and can handle situations that don't always go according to plan. This could, for example, involve a customer not being available or circumstances at a delivery changing. You can make your own decisions when the situation requires it and know when you need to ask for help.
Although you are largely responsible for your own work, you are a team player. You help your colleagues when needed, communicate clearly, and contribute to the work flowing smoothly for the entire team.
For this position you need:
CE driver's license
valid YKB
Good Swedish language skills, both spoken and written
Having a forklift license and valid ADR certificate is a merit.
