1 position(s). About the Workplace Västra Mälardalens Myndighetsförbund is a municipal federation with Arboga and Kungsör municipalities as members. The federation's tasks are to perform the municipalities' tasks within the environmental and health protection sector as well as tasks within the scope of the Planning and Building Act. The federation is also responsible for the municipalities' energy advisory services. The federation's office is located in Arboga in pleasant premises in Högskolecentrum, close to Arboga railway station. Arboga has good commuting opportunities by train (25 min from Örebro, 30 min from Västerås, and 25 min from Eskilstuna). The federation's office has two units, the environmental and health protection unit and the building permit unit, as well as a central administration. In total, the federation has 18 employees. Job Description The main tasks are processing of building permits, notifications and preliminary decisions, as well as exercising supervision according to the Planning and Building Act. You are responsible for handling matters from start to finish. Your work takes place in a politically governed organization where you make decisions according to delegation and prepare and, when required, present matters for decision in the Federation Board. You conduct technical consultations and perform workplace visits and final consultations. The work also includes providing advice and information to the public. The work is independent but you work in close cooperation with others in the building permit unit. This is to ensure consensus and achieve high quality with professional and legally sound processing. As an employee, you contribute to internal quality and development work that continuously takes place to improve routines and processes. As an employee at the federation, you have flexible working hours and the opportunity to work remotely up to two days a week. You also have the option to choose between a wellness hour per week or a wellness allowance. You also have your own office. Qualifications We are looking for someone who is trained as a building engineer, building inspector/building permit processor, or has other education or experience that the employer deems equivalent. You work today or have previously worked as a building inspector/building permit processor and exercised supervision within the Planning and Building Act area. You are comfortable working in digital environments. The work requires that you have good knowledge of and experience in the application of the Planning and Building Act with associated legislation and case law. You have good collaboration skills and are good at working independently. You can plan, organize, and perform work in an efficient and legally sound manner. Holistic thinking and the ability to follow a project from the idea stage to completion are valuable qualities. The work requires that you have a good ability to meet people in different situations and that you express yourself very well in Swedish both orally and in writing. Working as an inspector involves many contacts with business operators, authorities, and the public, so great importance will be placed on personal suitability.
