The Department of Technology and Community Services is a broad and socially important workplace where many areas of expertise work together. Here we work with the entire community building process – from regulatory authority and planning to project implementation, operations, and service. The Department of Technology and Community Services consists of operational areas for community, operations, meals, and water and waste. The Community operational area consists of the units Project, Maintenance, Surveying, and Building and Environment. The Building and Environment unit is responsible for regulatory matters within the areas of building permits, environmental and health protection supervision, and food control. In addition to regulatory oversight, the unit is responsible for providing good service to the public and businesses within these areas and for participating in the municipality's Community Building Process. 1 position(s). WORK TASKS We are looking for you to work independently and in groups handling cases that are reviewed according to building legislation and the Environmental Code with applicable regulations within the Community Building Administration's area of responsibility. Depending on your education and background, the scope of various work tasks in the building permit and supervision process, such as handling building permits, shore protection exemptions, site visits, and supervision visits, may vary. Your primary focus will be handling building permit cases and supervision cases. The position also includes providing advice and service to individuals and business owners and participating in various project groups related to the community building process. The work involves significant responsibility in many interesting and sensitive decision-making situations. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for someone with a building permit handler education from college or other equivalent education within the community building area. You may also have other education and/or experience that the employer considers equivalent and appropriate for the assignment. You should have an interest in urban planning issues. It is an advantage if you have good knowledge of building legislation and environmental legislation. Experience working in planning and building or building permit handling is an advantage but not a requirement. Similarly, experience in house design or house construction is an advantage. You organize and plan your work well, work according to a clear process where you complete what you have started. You set time frames and meet deadlines. It is also important that you are confident, stand up for your opinions, and have the courage to speak up when necessary. You have the ability to separate the issue from the person and can feel secure even in uncertain situations. Since the work involves considerable customer contact, it is important that you are calm and accommodating in your approach. You have the ability to understand different aspects of a problem and can find ideal solutions in an efficient manner. You follow established goals, set your own, work toward them, and focus on results. You are driven by goal- and results-oriented thinking in prioritization, planning, and action. Salary form: Monthly salary. Employment form: Permanent employment. Duration: Indefinite, start date: The position is filled by agreement.
