Construction Manager for Building Works, Subproject 5 Fläsian, Double Track Dingersjö–Kubikenborg
We are seeking a construction manager for Trafikverket who will be responsible for construction management, monitoring, and coordination of contract work on bridges, support structures, and other building works in a railway project.
This is a consulting assignment with a base in Sundsvall and requires physical presence on site at least four days per week.
Assignment start as soon as possible, but no later than 2026-11-01.
Utilization rate is 80–100%, with the possibility of at least 50% during the period November 2026 to January 2027. From February 2027, the utilization rate shall be over 80%.
About the Company
Trafikverket is responsible for the development and management of Sweden's transport infrastructure. The assignment is part of the East Coast Railway Dingersjö–Sundsvall program and concerns the project Double Track Dingersjö–Kubikenborg, which includes extensive railway expansion including bridges, rock cuts, platform measures, and implementation of ERTMS.
About the Role
We are seeking a construction manager for building works for Subproject 5 Fläsian within the Double Track Dingersjö–Kubikenborg project. The role involves monitoring contract work on site and ensuring that production is carried out in accordance with contract documents and project requirements.
Subproject 5 Fläsian includes, among other things, 4.4 km of double track, new road and railway bridges, support structures, noise barriers, and work related to existing traffic-carrying railway and E4.
Role and Responsibilities
• Be on the construction site and monitor that the contractor builds according to contract documents
• Contribute production expertise in preparing request for proposal documents
• Participate in production planning
• Prepare decision-making materials for notifications and financial settlement
• Handle and coordinate monitoring of MSS withdrawals
• Ensure that the contractor delivers documents according to the delivery plan in the project's final phase
• Monitor and handle deviations from building specifications
• Monitor delivery quality through inspection of the contractor's quality management and self-inspection
• Participate in site inspections
• Participate in health and environmental rounds
• Contribute to the project's risk management
• Be present during critical work such as connections and track work
• Prepare responses to questions in the project's information management tool Projektportalen
• Check the contractor's invoices
• Participate in inspections and surveys
• Monitor the contractor's documentation for relationship documents, facility data, and operations and maintenance instructions
• Establish and perform control programs and inspection plans for own work
• Maintain a project diary for contract work
• Monitor the contractor's diary
Competence Requirements
1. At least 5 years of experience as a construction manager, work supervisor, project manager, or site manager with responsibility for progress and financial monitoring.
2. Experience acting as a construction manager, work supervisor, project manager, or site manager in complex bridge construction projects valued at a minimum of 30 million SEK.
3. Documented knowledge of practical use of AMA.
4. Good command of Swedish in speech and writing.
5. Category B driver's license.
6. Certified in concrete casting class 1.
7. Completed BASÄSKYDD course.
Added Value Requirements
1. High competence in bridge launching.
2. Good knowledge of temporary and permanent support structures.
3. High competence in bridge construction over traffic-carrying roads and railways.
Assignment Information
Assignment Period: Start as soon as possible, but no later than 2026-11-01. Contract period through 2028-09-30 with possibility for extension 1+1+1+1+1 years.
Scope: Estimated utilization rate 80–100%. During the period November 2026 to January 2027, a minimum utilization rate of 50% is acceptable. From February 2027, the utilization rate shall be over 80%.
Work Location: Sundsvall. Physical presence is required at least 80% of the time and the consultant must be on site in Sundsvall at least four days per week.
