Bus Driver – Gotlandsbuss
Gotlandsbuss is a central part of public transportation on Gotland. Every day we help people get to work, school, leisure activities, and all of summer's events. In addition to scheduled routes, we also operate school transport and charter services, which provides a varied and developmental work environment.
Gotland is known for its bright summer evenings, beautiful coastal landscapes, and vibrant summers – a place where work and quality of life meet. We are now seeking bus drivers who want to become an important part of our team and provide passengers with a safe and positive journey.
Placement:
We are looking for someone who can be based at the Burgsvik garage.
Job Responsibilities
As a bus driver at Gotlandsbuss, you will have a varied position where you can drive scheduled routes, school transport, and charter services. Regardless of the assignment, you are one of our most important representatives to our passengers.
Your responsibilities include:
Operating a bus in a safe, responsible, and professional manner
Driving with a focus on environmentally friendly and economical driving practices
Handling traffic situations calmly and safely, even under stress or disruptions
Greeting passengers with a service-oriented and friendly manner
Operating school transport with responsibility for the safety of children and young people
Operating charter services, such as group trips, association tours, or event transportation
Representing Gotlandsbuss in a way that reflects our high standards
Collaborating with traffic control and colleagues for efficient operations
Qualifications
Requirements:
Category D driver's license
Valid YKB
Digital tachograph license card
Good Swedish language skills and ability to communicate in English
Access to your own vehicle (due to varying working hours)
Merits:
Experience as a bus driver, especially in scheduled routes, school transport, or charter services
Experience in customer service or service-oriented professions
Introduction and Support
You will receive introductory training led by experienced bus drivers. During your work, you will also have support from our traffic control, who are available to help and guide you when situations arise on the road.
Safety and Controls
As part of our safety procedures, the following applies:
Alcohol and drug testing is conducted before employment
Random alcohol and drug tests occur throughout employment
Certificate of no criminal record from the Police is required for employment
