We are currently seeking 2-4 summer temporary firefighters for our full-time station ahead of summer 2027.
Your main responsibilities:
Work as a firefighter is varied and challenging. You will be part of an emergency response team tasked with handling fires and accidents of various kinds. The work also includes training, vehicle and equipment maintenance, as well as other activities within the organization such as accident prevention work including education and information.
Your profile, full-time firefighter:
You have completed the two-year Protection Against Accidents (SMO) training, alternatively 15 weeks of BmH training. You have ongoing SMO with at least two terms completed by start date 1/6 2027. You have GRIB certifications with experience working as a RiB firefighter. You hold a Class B driver's license, are in good physical condition, and are a competent swimmer. Class C driver's license and additional training in fire or safety work are considered meritorious.
Our Tests
We are planning interviews and tests during week 46. In connection with the interview, applicants are expected to give a brief presentation in an area of your choice related to the firefighter profession for approximately 10 minutes with the purpose of maintaining education and knowledge level. The other tests consist of:
Treadmill test
Swimming proficiency / water rescue
Physical exercises in strength and endurance
Height test
Job-related course / claustrophobia test
Before employment can take place, you must pass a medical examination provided by the employer. In connection with this examination, alcohol and drug testing will be conducted.

The Municipal Management Office operates under the Municipal Board and is tasked with leading, coordinating, supporting, and following up on all municipal operations.
During the interview, we will conduct an identity check and verify citizenship. Accepted documents are passport, international ID card, driver's license + identity certificate from the Swedish Tax Agency, or other ID documents that confirm citizenship. For some positions, a copy of the police's suspicion and conviction register is required. We welcome language skills in Finnish and/or one of the Sami varieties since Örnsköldsvik Municipality is part of both the Finnish and Sami administrative areas.
In our municipality, a number of positions are classified as security-sensitive, so security vetting may be conducted. These positions may require Swedish citizenship.
