ABOUT US
Gothenburg City Mission and Trollhättan Municipality collaborate through an IOP—an idea-driven public partnership. We operate an open meeting place and two emergency accommodations.
Since the 1950s, Gothenburg City Mission has experience working with and supporting people in various forms of vulnerability. Today, Gothenburg City Mission works in areas such as addiction, homelessness, poverty, mental health issues, unsustainable consumption, domestic violence, and unemployment.
We are now seeking staff who want to contribute to these operations together with Gothenburg City Mission.
ABOUT THE POSITION
Work tasks across all three operations include providing psychosocial support to guests in various ways, creating a comfortable environment, being available for conversations and counseling. The work also includes ensuring a safe environment. Routines and guidelines are available to support and guide your work. The position also involves practical tasks within the scope of the assignments, such as meal preparation, cleaning, laundry, and transportation.
As an employee of Gothenburg City Mission, you will have access to our training package, which includes low-arousal approach, MI, CPR, and first aid.
WHO ARE YOU?
We are looking for someone who is a social pedagogue, treatment pedagogue/assistant, or has equivalent education, or is currently studying for such qualifications. You need to have knowledge of community resources and the legislation and structures governing work with people in vulnerable situations. Since you will be transporting people as part of the job, you must have a category B driver's license (manual transmission) and good driving skills.
Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability. Important qualities for this work include genuine interest in people, good interpersonal skills, willingness to learn, and good capacity for self-reflection.
Across all operations, it is an asset if you have training/experience in harm reduction approaches and motivational interviewing as a working method and approach. Previous experience working with addiction issues and/or mental health is an asset.

PRACTICAL INFORMATION
The unit is located in Trollhättan, and this is where you will be based. The work is part-time (approximately 53%) and includes inconvenient working hours and on-call sleeping shifts.
Our emergency accommodations are closed during the day, which means working hours are scheduled for evenings and nights (with on-call sleeping shifts) and certain weekend shifts.
This is a fixed-term position with good opportunities for extension. Interviews are held on a rolling basis, so do not delay submitting your application as the position may be filled before the final application deadline.
Before employment, you must provide an extract from the suspicion and burden register.
