Description
Do you want to help secure Blekinge's preparedness? Länsstyrelsen is seeking one to two shelter inspectors for our new assignment to inspect and oversee all shelters in the region.
As a shelter inspector, you contribute directly to society's security by ensuring that Blekinge's shelters are ready when it really matters.
Duties
Your duties include contacting property owners, planning and conducting inspections, writing protocols and any mandatory action orders, and following up on measures through re-inspections and reports.
In consultation with colleagues, you will analyze and develop inspection plans to assess which shelters and which areas should be prioritized for inspection and oversight.
You will also provide guidance regarding shelters to both property owners and citizens and participate in certain investigative matters.
The role of shelter inspector is in the establishment phase, which means that certain aspects may be discontinued or added.
The employment will begin with introductory training and inspections in cooperation with the Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency.
The role is located in the Unit for Operational Security. Here we gather expertise working with security, operations and continuity. We are currently five employees and one unit manager and are part of the Department for Management and Operational Support.
Qualifications
You must have education and competence within the construction or real estate industry or other education that Länsstyrelsen deems relevant, alternatively several years of experience with site-based oversight.
Class B driver's license
It is a merit if you have:
Education as a shelter inspector or shelter expert
Worked with inspections of shelters
As a person, you are confident in yourself, have integrity and the courage to make decisions. You are well-organized, thorough, analytical and have good communication and pedagogical skills. You are accustomed to handling multiple matters in parallel and have the ability to express yourself well in Swedish in speech and writing.
