The 44th Mine Clearance Diving Division operates under the Fourth Naval Combat Flotilla and is located in the beautiful surroundings of Skredsvik, Uddevalla. For the right person, we offer in-house training as a diving technician and a work opportunity where your skills develop over time. 44th Mine Clearance Diving Division The division's primary mission is to create freedom of movement for naval forces, with focus on coastal and archipelago areas as well as marine infrastructure. We operate both at sea and on land, and work nationally and internationally. The division has a strong operational focus, and personnel from across the Swedish Armed Forces work here, not just the Navy, meaning you become part of a competent and helpful team with great breadth in its tasks. The division consists of MEODS (Naval EOD School), which trains the Navy's mine clearance divers, and an EOD company. As a diving technician at the 44th Mine Clearance Diving Division, you are placed at MEODS but will also support the division's company from time to time. You work in a team with other diving technicians but also have significant contact with other personnel. Main Responsibilities The role involves responsibility for diving technical work, preventive and corrective maintenance on the division's dive systems, hyperbaric chamber systems, and breathing gas distribution systems. You are responsible for training on these systems in both handling and technical understanding. You also participate in the development of new equipment for the mine clearance diving system. As a diving technician, you act as a referral body/expert within your area of competence to peer and senior units. You are also responsible for maintaining contacts in diving technology with industry. The focus of your responsibilities is diving technical expertise, but you may also support the 44th Mine Clearance Diving Division within operational activities. You will work with, among other things: - Responsible for corrective maintenance on signature-adapted mine clearance diving apparatus and light dive systems - Perform corrective maintenance on diving suits - Responsible for preventive and corrective maintenance on the unit's hyperbaric chamber systems (fixed and mobile) and the unit's gas supply systems - Responsible for gas blending equipment and nitrox production - Responsible for tracking annual overhaul of dive equipment - Responsible for deviation management in diving technical matters - Maintain readiness as a hyperbaric chamber operator Depending on your background, training will be provided to broaden your competence. You need solid technical understanding and drive, as well as problem-solving ability.
