As a dementia care specialist nurse with us, you and a colleague will have a central and specialized role within elderly care. Your mission is to ensure that people with dementia receive safe, dignified, and individually tailored care – regardless of where they are in their disease progression.
Job Responsibilities
This is work that includes many personal interactions and varied tasks where you will, among other things:
Provide consultative support to staff, unit managers, and other professionals on matters concerning dementia diseases.
Guide and train staff within home care, supported living, and day activities in communication, interaction, and nursing care.
Develop and follow up on working methods, routines, and guidelines according to the National Board of Health and Welfare's national guidelines for dementia care.
Provide support to family members – you guide and advise relatives to facilitate their daily lives and create security. You collaborate with the municipality's family support services through support groups, family discussions, and joint home visits.
Collaborate with others such as the municipality's short-term/respite care unit, day activities, dementia team, primary care, benefit administrators, and specialist teams to create a holistic perspective on the individual's needs.
Qualifications
Licensed specialist nurse with advanced training in dementia care or care of the elderly.
Good computer skills
Good knowledge of the Swedish language
Driver's license B
We would appreciate it if you have experience working with various quality registers, such as BPSD and SveDem, as well as experience working with people with dementia.
Abilities and Skills
You are confident in your professional role and have a genuine interest and commitment to people's health. You enjoy meeting and talking with people in their current situation and have the ability to treat people with respect and warmth.
As a person, you are driven, courageous, and comfortable taking on significant responsibility. The work requires that you can work in a structured, organized, and solution-focused manner with a holistic perspective.

The department operates under the Social Care Board and is responsible for care and services for the elderly and people with physical and mental disabilities, as well as support, counseling, and other services for children, young people, and adults. The Social Services Department's work is governed by laws and regulations, particularly the Social Services Act (SoL), the Health and Medical Care Act (HSL), and the Act on Support and Services for Certain Disabled Persons (LSS).
