Description We are seeking an engaged and development-oriented assistant principal who, together with the principal, staff, and students, wants to continue developing a safe, educational, and inspiring school environment. Bergs School is located 5 minutes outside Lysekil town center, surrounded by pastures and meadows, and includes approximately 50 students distributed across grades F-3. Mariedalsskolan is an F-6 school with approximately 320 students located in Lysekil town center with proximity to the sea and a smaller forest area. This allows our schools and after-school programs to use the outdoor environment in their educational activities. At the schools, 55 staff members work with high qualifications. We have two well-liked schools with the desire for all our students to achieve good academic development through quality education, safety, and a conducive learning environment. At the schools, our student welfare team works, which consists of a special educator, special teacher, school counselor, school psychologist, school nurse, assistant principal, and principal. We have developed close collaboration with after-school programs and teaching teams where, in the FFE forum (Preventative and Promoting Student Welfare Work), we work together to create good conditions for learning and student development in school based on a safe and accessible learning environment. Job Responsibilities As an assistant principal, you are an important part of the school's leadership and student welfare team. You work closely with the principal and help lead and develop the operation based on the school's goals, governing documents, and local development areas. The assignment includes, among other things: Being a pedagogical leader and supporting the school's development work. Delegated managerial responsibility for after-school program and administrative staff. Leading, supporting, and following up on staff work. Working for a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students. Contributing to systematic quality work and work environment efforts. Collaborating with guardians, student welfare services, and external stakeholders. Qualifications We are looking for someone with a teaching degree from higher education and several years of experience working in a school. You have strong commitment to students' learning, development, and well-being. You are a secure leader who builds good relationships and creates trust. You have good ability to organize, prioritize, and make decisions. You are communicative, collaboration-oriented, and solution-focused. You see development work as a natural part of the assignment. It is meritorious if you have experience with leadership in school and have completed or begun principal training.
