DUTIES
As an Assistant Principal you will:
• share responsibility with the area's principal for finances, personnel, work environment, and quality and school development,
• together with the principal be responsible for ensuring that operations meet municipal and national goals and guidelines,
• develop the pedagogy of pre-school and primary school so that children and students are given the best conditions to develop,
• of course be a good ambassador for Pajala Municipality and the Children and Education sector.
You will be part of the School Director's management group with other assistant principals, principals, and quality developers where you together drive and develop pre-schools and primary schools in Pajala Municipality.
You are employed by Pajala Municipality with current placement at Gårdbyskolan in Korpilombolo with the School Director as your immediate supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for someone who:
• has a college/university degree and experience in pedagogical work,
• is a clear and confident pedagogical leader with focus on student knowledge development,
• has integrity and good collaboration skills,
• creates trusting relationships and earns confidence and trust,
• has clear leadership and the ability to inspire and provide conditions for participation,
• can lead and distribute, prioritize and delegate tasks,
• communicates clearly and explains the reasons for decisions and supports your arguments with facts,
• has a strong ability to enthuse, anchor and lead ongoing development work together with colleagues,
• has leadership experience and experience with development work in pre-school or primary school and is well familiar with relevant governing documents and other relevant legislation,
• has good computer skills and can communicate well in both speech and writing.
If you have completed or are participating in the national principal training/program it is a merit, as are other leadership training.

Pajala Municipality applies individual and differentiated salary setting. This means that the salary is set based on applicable collective agreement general terms including appendices and the municipality's salary policy. Upon new employment, an individual assessment of the salary is made based on the requirements placed on the position. Within the Swedish Municipal Workers' Union agreement area, the minimum starting salary is 23,638kr. For employees with vocational upper secondary education, the starting salary is 25,798kr.
Pajala Municipality is part of the administrative area for Meänkieli and Finnish, so knowledge of one or both of these languages is a merit.
