Our unit consists of 9 case handlers who conduct investigations according to the Social Services Act (SoL) and the Act on Support and Services for Persons with Certain Disabilities (LSS). As a case handler, you meet people who, due to functional impairment, need support and assistance to have a good daily life. JOB DUTIES In this role, you will work as a case handler for the Social Services Act within care and elderly services. The work involves, in accordance with current legislation, applicable case law, and established objectives, being responsible for receiving applications, investigating, assessing, and making decisions. Working at a public authority means all cases must be handled in a legally secure manner and maintained at high quality. Our target group includes adults of various ages, with a large portion consisting of people with care needs related to advanced age. We meet people with varying circumstances—from those needing support and care in daily life to those with more complex life situations. The role also includes informing about the authority's mandate, our services, current legislation, and the user's rights. You stay updated by seeking information about new court rulings and using legal databases to ensure that case handling follows applicable case law. QUALIFICATIONS To be considered for employment, you must have a degree in social work or another academic education that the employer deems equivalent. You need good competence regarding legislation within the social services area. You also need a very good ability to express yourself clearly and structurally in speech and writing in Swedish. We consider it meritorious if you have work experience in public authority administration within the Social Services Act. As a person, you are positive, confident, stable, and thrive in an independent role. We are looking for someone who is committed and solution-focused with the ability for innovative thinking. You need to be organized and have good ability to organize and prioritize your work in a productive manner. As a case handler, you have constant contact with other collaboration partners, and it is required that you have good collaboration skills and professional judgment. In addition to this, you need to see yourself as an outward-facing person driven by making a difference for our citizens. A driver's license is a requirement.
