We are now seeking an experienced Computational Engineer in CFD who wants to contribute to developing the future's energy technology products alongside a specialist team at a leading global tech company in Finspång. The role offers the opportunity to work with complex technical challenges, advanced simulations, and some of the industry's leading experts in aerodynamics and fluid mechanics.
About the Role
As a CFD Computational Engineer, you will become part of the client's research and development organization where you work with advanced flow calculations linked to gas turbines. The team is responsible for aerodynamics, secondary air systems, and analyses of gases, fuel flows, and heat transfer in turbines.
In the role, you will function as an important computational resource and support the team with both large CFD models for entire turbine systems and detailed analyses of individual components. The work is computationally intensive and involves close collaboration with other technical disciplines within the organization.
Examples of Work Tasks
- Set up and perform CFD calculations
- Work with large CFD models for entire turbines and subsystems
- Analyze aerodynamics, flow, heat transfer, and combustion-related issues
- Provide technical support within CFD and fluid mechanics
- Collaborate with designers, test engineers, and other specialist functions
- Work with advanced computing clusters and resource-intensive simulations
- Participate in product development projects and technical investigations
About the Team
You will become part of a highly specialized group within CFD and fluid mechanics consisting of approximately 15 people. The team is characterized by high technical competence, knowledge sharing, and close collaboration with the rest of the development organization.
What We're Looking For
• Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Physics, or equivalent field
• At least three years of experience as a Computational Engineer within CFD
• Experience with advanced CFD models and fluid mechanical analyses
• Very good English language skills, both spoken and written
Desirable
• Experience with ANSYS CFX
• Experience with STAR-CCM
• Experience working with gas turbines
• Experience from wind power, hydropower, or related energy technology applications
• Experience in product development
