We're now seeking a lighting technician who wants to take an important role in our lighting technical work and contribute to some of Eastern Gothland's most powerful stage experiences.
Who are we?
Östgötateatern with Ung Scen Öst is part of Scenkonst Öst, which also includes Östgötamusiken and Norrköping Symphony Orchestra. Together we create performing arts and musical experiences with both breadth and depth for audiences throughout Eastern Gothland. Scenkonst Öst was founded in 2016 and has approximately 240 permanent employees as well as a large number of temporary staff. Our operations are characterized by courage, respect, and participation, supported by functions including communications, HR, IT, finance, and facilities.
At Östgötateatern, grand musicals coexist with classic and newly written drama, always with high artistic ambitions. Here you'll become part of a creative and engaged operation where people with different skills work together to create productions that move and inspire.
What does the role entail?
As a lighting technician, you help create the technical conditions that bring performing arts to life. You have a central role throughout the entire production process, from planning and preparation to rehearsals and finished performances. You plan equipment and resource needs, program lighting consoles, and participate in both rehearsals and performances. The work takes place in close collaboration with the artistic team, technical coordinator, and other technical colleagues.
The role also includes responsibility for ensuring our lighting technical equipment and installations function optimally. You contribute to the development of the theater's lighting technical operations and participate in planning purchases and investments.
No two productions are alike, which makes the work varied and offers the opportunity to combine technical expertise with creative problem-solving.
Who are you?
You have experience working independently with lighting technical solutions and can plan resources and take responsibility for the practical implementation of performing arts productions. You also need to be able to prioritize when circumstances change and switch between different work tasks.
As a person, you have strong communication and collaboration skills, as the role involves many contact points and close cooperation with both artistic teams and technical colleagues.
We're looking for someone with:
Theater technical education or equivalent professional experience that the employer considers equivalent.
Good and documented knowledge of lighting technical work within the performing arts field.
Experience with lighting console programming and show operation.
Good Swedish language skills, both spoken and written.
Knowledge and experience with image and video technology.
Knowledge of electrical systems, installation, and networking.

Employment form: Permanent position, 6-month probationary period applies.
Scope: Full-time. Evening and weekend work occurs.
