The Swedish Prison and Probation Service (Statens institutionsstyrelse, SiS) is a government agency responsible for individualized involuntary care for youth with complex psychosocial problems and for adults with substance abuse issues. SiS also manages closed youth care. We operate youth homes and residential facilities for adults with substance abuse issues throughout the country. SiS Youth Home Nereby has operations in Harestad and Bergsjön. We conduct differentiated and high-quality educational, care, and treatment work. Our activities involve many professions, such as teachers, treatment pedagogues, psychologists, nurses, and others. SiS Youth Home Nereby serves both school-age and non-school-age boys and girls with psychosocial problems as well as those involved in criminal activity and substance abuse. Job Description Do you want to be part of creating vital change for vulnerable people? If so, the position of treatment pedagogue at SiS is a meaningful challenge. As a treatment pedagogue, you work in a team with treatment assistants and treatment coordinators, and together you are responsible for ensuring that the young people and clients living with us receive the safety, care, and treatment they need. We often meet people in crisis, which means you work with qualified care and motivation work and provide support in daily life. With support from your knowledge in care and treatment work, you actively contribute to the implementation of treatment plans. Documentation is an important part of your work and contributes to legal certainty, planning, and monitoring of our activities. You help maintain security according to our procedures and contribute to ensuring that daily life runs smoothly with schooling, cleaning, meal preparation, and more. Contact person responsibilities are also among your tasks. The work may also include mentoring new employees and interns. This is a position for someone who sees a positive challenge in working with vulnerable people in difficult life situations. The job is often demanding but also stimulating, gratifying, and varied. Qualifications To succeed in this role, you have a firmly grounded positive view of people. You are motivated to help people in vulnerable life situations and share SiS values of being a place for change. Furthermore, you have a good ability to create engagement and participation among our young people. As a person, you are secure in yourself and have an easy time building relationships with young people as well as with other team members. You have good communication skills and can remain calm even in pressured situations. You work well with others and can handle conflicts constructively. You must also have: A diploma from a 2-year post-secondary education at a folk high school or vocational college (KY/YH) with a focus on social/pedagogical treatment work or education from a university that we consider equivalent B-category driver's license Good Swedish in speech and writing Meriting: Experience working with people in vulnerable life situations, e.g., work in psychiatry or in LSS care Experience from client-facing positions at the Swedish Prison and Probation Service (Kriminalvården), e.g., as a correctional officer Education in care and nursing Experience working with our target groups (e.g., substance abuse care, youth care, young girls, etc.) At SiS, we value good collaboration.
