SiS Youth Home Fagared receives non-compulsory school-age boys with psychosocial problems, criminal behavior, and substance abuse issues. We have units in Lindome, Öxnevalla, and Gothenburg. Job Description: Do you want to help create vital change for vulnerable people? Then a position as a treatment assistant at SiS is a meaningful challenge. At SiS Youth Home Fagared, we are now strengthening our team with additional treatment assistants for our units in Lindome that work with implementing closed youth care. At the Lindome units, we implement closed youth care for boys sentenced to a criminal sanction under the Closed Youth Care Act. The overarching purpose of work at these units is to reintegrate the sentenced young people back into society. In daily operations, this is based on individually tailored implementation planning. We also have a treatment unit with a specially reinforced mandate where we receive young people with extensive psychiatric and neuropsychiatric issues, including autism, intellectual disability, ADHD, PTSD, self-injurious behavior, and significant externalizing behavior. Much of the work involves motivational support for each young person placed with us. As a treatment assistant, you help ensure that routines at the unit function as they should. You play a significant role in providing stability and safety for our young people and clients, and you form the foundation of daily life activities such as schooling, cleaning, cooking, and more. You help maintain security at the institution according to our procedures. You work on building safe relationships and contribute to ensuring our young people/clients receive the safety and security they need to break established patterns of behavior. Documentation is an important part of your work. Together with your team of engaged colleagues such as treatment pedagogues and treatment coordinators, you have the opportunity to achieve good results and contribute to change. As a new employee, you will complete a 10-week SiS basic training program. The training alternates between theory and guided introduction, equipping you for the treatment role in SiS operations. Qualifications Your personal suitability is key to vital change. Therefore, you need a strong ability to create engagement and participation. Equally important is that you have a solid positive view of people, strong empathic ability, and an ability to build good relationships. You have good communication skills and can remain calm even in pressured situations. You also have the ability to collaborate with others and enjoy sharing your knowledge with colleagues. You must also have: Completed upper secondary education At least 2 years of post-secondary education from a folk high school or vocational college (KY/YH) or other equivalent education. The education should be focused on social work, social pedagogy, behavioral science, or other relevant subject areas.* Experience working with people in vulnerable life situations, for example within psychiatry, HVB-services, or care and support. Class B driver's license Good Swedish language skills, both spoken and written *Exceptions to the requirement for at least two years of post-secondary education may be made in individual cases if there are special reasons according to Chapter 5, Section 4 of the Social Services Ordinance (2025:468).
