The Swedish Prison and Probation Service, SiS, is a government agency responsible for individually adapted compulsory care for youth with complex psychosocial issues and for adults with substance abuse disorders. SiS also manages closed youth care. We do this at youth homes and facilities for adults with substance abuse issues throughout the country. At SiS, your work life becomes an exciting challenge. Job Description Do you want to be part of creating vital change for vulnerable people? Then the job as a treatment assistant at SiS is a meaningful challenge. As a treatment assistant, you work in a team together with treatment educators and treatment coordinators, and together you are responsible for ensuring that the young people (non-school-age boys) living with us receive the safety, care, and treatment they need. We are expanding right now and preparing for the future! You may have noticed that we are more visible than usual and have many job postings out right now? To succeed with this, we need more engaged colleagues. We often meet people in crisis, which means you work with qualified care and motivation work and providing daily support. With the support of your knowledge in care and treatment work, you actively contribute to fulfilling treatment plans. Documentation is an important part of your work and contributes to legal security, planning, and follow-up of our operations. You contribute to maintaining safety according to our procedures and you help ensure that daily routines run smoothly with schooling, cleaning, meal preparation, and more. Contact person responsibilities are also one of your tasks. The work may also include being a mentor to new employees and trainees. Therefore, you need to have a strong ability to create engagement and participation. Equally important is that you have a solid positive view of people, great empathic ability, and an ability to build good relationships. You have good communication skills and can remain calm even in pressured situations. You also have the ability to work with others and enjoy sharing your knowledge with colleagues. At least 2 years of post-secondary education from a folk high school or vocational higher education (KY/YH) or equivalent education. The education must be focused on social work, social pedagogy, behavioral science, or another relevant subject area. - Exceptions to the requirement of at least two years of post-secondary education may be made in individual cases if there are special reasons according to Chapter 5, Section 4 of the Social Services Ordinance (2025:468). Category B driver's license Good Swedish in speech and writing Meritorious requirements: Experience from client-facing positions in the Swedish Correctional Service, e.g., as a Correctional Officer Security guard training Experience from client-facing positions at the Swedish Migration Agency, e.g., handler at the Detention Unit Education in care and health services Experience working with our target group (e.g., substance abuse care, youth care, young boys) At SiS we care about good employee relations. Start date by agreement. We also have 3 days of introduction that must be completed before you as an employee can work directly with clients, plus shadowing with regular staff. As a new employee, you will also complete SiS basic training over 10 weeks. Working hours are according to schedule: day, evening, and weekends.
