Habilitation is specialized healthcare for children and youth with autism, intellectual disabilities, mobility impairments, or acquired brain injuries. We provide health-promoting and treatment interventions based on each individual's unique needs and circumstances, and possess specialist knowledge about how functional disabilities can affect daily life, health, and development. Description We are looking for someone interested in following up with children and young people up to 18 years old with diagnoses such as cerebral palsy, muscle diseases, inherited metabolic disorders, spina bifida, genetic syndromes, intellectual disabilities, autism, and more. Our specialty is understanding what symptoms these diagnoses can cause, as well as preventing and treating them. We follow our patients over time to see how interventions make a difference in the daily lives of both patients and families. Common symptoms can sometimes manifest in unusual ways, and the Habilitation team can help identify these. Habilitation works in close collaboration with, among others, the Children's Clinic, Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (BUP), Primary Care (Närhälsan), Child Health Centers (BVC), and school health services. This position is a permanent full-time employment (100%). Work Tasks We are looking for someone curious about our operations who wants to work with a great team. You will join an experienced and committed nursing group that collaborates closely across clinic boundaries. Although nurses have their main placement at their respective clinics, we function as a unified group with strong collegial support and continuous knowledge sharing. The position is based in Alingsås and involves work in both Alingsås and Borås, with an approximate distribution of 60% and 40% respectively. Travel between clinics occurs during work hours. You will work interdisciplinarily with doctors, dietitians, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, social workers, psychologists, speech-language pathologists, and special educators, primarily serving patients from the Alingsås/Borås clinics. Your tasks and role will be to work closely with children/youth, parents, and other professionals to conduct assessments and analyses, and to plan and implement interventions that are subsequently evaluated. The areas nurses in habilitation primarily work with are nutrition, sleep, epilepsy and elimination, as well as medication monitoring. You will conduct your own visits or co-visit with other professionals. Interventions for children/youth may be provided individually or in groups over defined periods. You will serve as a link for medical matters within habilitation and have a collaborative role with neighboring healthcare units. You will be offered an orientation period and collegial mentoring. Qualifications You must be a licensed nurse with advanced training, preferably in pediatric nursing. Clinical experience in pediatric and adolescent medicine and/or pediatric and adolescent neurology is meriting. You must be able to express yourself fluently in Swedish, both verbally and in writing.
