REGION JÖNKÖPINGS LÄN · Vollzeit
Jönköping, Schweden
Habilitation Center, Jönköping Welcome to apply for an exciting position where you meet children and adolescents with congenital functional impairments and/or neurological diseases. A couple of our pediatric neurologists are approaching retirement. We are therefore looking for you who want to meet, understand, and assess children and adolescents who may have, for example, unknown, rare, or complex diagnoses. You are driven by using your specialized pediatric neurology expertise to contribute to the best possible assessment and treatment for our patients. Your role as a pediatric neurologist You will divide your work between the pediatric habilitation center and the pediatric clinic. At the pediatric clinic, you will have a pediatric neurology outpatient clinic and work as a pediatric neurology consultant providing support to the pediatric ward and neonatal care unit. You are part of the epilepsy team and will participate in the on-call system. The pediatric clinic is a hospital within a hospital. The pediatric clinic has approximately 180 employees in the professional categories of pediatricians, pediatric nurses, child nurses, nursing assistants, care administrators, and educators. The Habilitation Center is a regional clinic with outpatient services in Jönköping, Eksjö, and Värnamo, comparable to the pediatric clinic in terms of number of employees. The activities are team-based and we have many professions working together: occupational therapist, dietitian, physical therapist, social workers, speech-language pathologist, physician, psychologist, nurse, special education teacher, and care administrator. With us, you will be the pediatric neurology expertise in the team. Collaboration between different professions and together with the patient is central to achieving the best treatment outcomes. The foundation of our work is meeting with children/adolescents and their families who come into contact with us based on their individual habilitation needs. Based on the child's/young person's needs, interventions are planned and designed together with the patient and their guardians. Our starting point is the equal value of all people. This means we meet everyone based on the individual's unique needs, life situation, and circumstances. We build our activities through meaningful encounters. Co-creation, meaningfulness, and quality are our core values, which are important and guiding for us. Everything culminates in our vision: A good life in an attractive region for everyone. Our self-evident starting point is that functional impairment is not a barrier within the individual but for the individual. Physician group: We currently have six pediatric neurologists, one pediatrician, one child psychiatrist, and one specialist in general medicine within pediatric habilitation. The physician group has close collaboration with each other and holds regular meetings, which provides an opportunity for discussions and consultations regarding our patients. You will become an important part of the teams you will work within. You will have the opportunity to reflect and develop together with other professions. Your profile We are looking for you who are a pediatric neurologist or pediatrician with an interest in moving forward and becoming a pediatric neurologist by completing further specialist training. As a person, you are confident, stable, and have good self-awareness. Since you will be working at multiple workplaces and in teams with several employees, we value that you have good collaboration skills. Our offer to you We offer you exciting work with the opportunity to get to know patients who need long-term contact. Our common mission is to offer the patient the best possible care regardless of whether we meet at the pediatric clinic or the habilitation center, which means good continuity for the patient and freedom for you to assess and treat the children, regardless of where you meet them. According to our current work model, your work week will be divided between the pediatric clinic and the habilitation center with approximately half of the time at each workplace. If you are a pediatric neurologist, you will quickly settle into work at the clinic and we hope you will enjoy working with us. If your goal is to become a pediatric neurologist, we want to offer you the opportunity for a main position at the Pediatric and Adolescent Habilitation Center. You will be part of the habilitation center's medical unit, where several specialists are already employed, providing good conditions for supervision. Working in a team with other professions is an important part of the work. During your specialist training (ST) position, supervision is included where the ST position is set up according to the guidelines of the National Board of Health and Welfare and the Swedish Neuropediatric Association within the Swedish Pediatric Association. Planning will be done in detail together with your supervisor. The ST position also includes external rotation, typically in Jönköping, Linköping, and Göteborg. The ST position leads to specialist competence in pediatric and adolescent neurology with habilitation, according to the National Board of Health and Welfare's target description for specialist training positions (2021).
