Key job responsibilities: advocate for the rights and interests of children and persons under guardianship by reviewing submissions and complaints and conducting fact-checks; communicate with persons involved in the case, building positive, professional, and collaborative relationships; participate in case hearings in court and provide information to the court; cooperate with other courts, long-term social care and social rehabilitation institutions, healthcare and educational facilities, social services, police authorities, the State Probation Service, and court executors; in cases provided for in the Criminal Procedure Law, represent a child or person under guardianship in criminal proceedings; establish the child's opinion; prepare draft documents, including decisions and other documents in accordance with regulatory requirements; prepare and submit cases for review at a court ward session; represent the court ward's position, explaining the court ward's actions and adopted decisions. Applicants must meet the following requirements and qualifications: citizen or non-citizen of the Republic of Latvia; applicant has reached 30 years of age; a person who holds at least an academic bachelor's degree or professional bachelor's degree and a level 5 professional qualification or other qualification corresponding to level 6 of the European Qualifications Framework as defined in the Latvian Education Classification in pedagogy, psychology, medicine, social work or law, educational management or public administration, and has at least three years of work experience in the relevant field of obtained education or in performing the duties of the court ward chair, court ward chair deputy, or court ward member; proficiency in the state language at the highest level; irreproachable reputation; excellent communication and collaboration skills; excellent digital skills; desired: category B driver's license; desired: completion of the training program mentioned in the fourth part of Article 10 of the Court Ward Law; desired: specialized knowledge in child protection; no restrictions under Article 11 of the Court Ward Law apply to the applicant; competencies: decision-making and responsibility; communication, including written communication; Applicants must submit the following documents: CV (Curriculum Vitae) in Europass format; a motivation letter (up to one A4 page in typewritten form); copies of documents confirming education and professional qualifications meeting the Regulations; a copy of a document confirming state language proficiency (for non-citizens); a certificate that the applicant is not subject to restrictions specified in Article 11 of the Court Ward Law; applicant may submit copies of documents confirming additional training relevant to the performance of job duties.
