As a department manager within the Correct Payments business area, you will have strategic responsibility for strengthening control activities and preventing incorrect payments, benefit fraud, and labor market crime. Together, we get Sweden to work. Would you like to join us? Department Mission The Correct Payments business area is responsible for the Swedish Public Employment Service's control activities. The mission includes, among other things, monitoring compensation for job seekers and working to prevent incorrect payments and welfare fraud. The business area has cross-agency responsibility for controls before, during, and after decisions. The responsibility covers monitoring of job seekers, employers, suppliers, and employees. The business area shall also follow up and drive development, efficiency improvements, and learning within control activities. The department is responsible for monitoring employers and following up on suppliers of labor market policy initiatives. The mission encompasses the entire handling process for employer inspections, including contact, reclaims, and review, as well as inspections, monitoring visits, and operational cooperation with other agencies. The department will initially consist of two units and eight sections with employees at several locations in Sweden, primarily in Falun, Köping, and Solna. Department Manager's Mission and Responsibility Your mission as department manager is overall operational, budget, and personnel responsibility for the department's activities. You ensure that the department's results match established goals and expectations. As department manager, you are part of the business area's management group and will, together with the business area director and other departments, be jointly responsible for the entire business area's results, development, and continued renewal. You have an important mission in creating a well-functioning management group and, together with the unit managers, driving and developing the operation. You enable strong performance, high satisfaction, and a good work environment by working in accordance with the Swedish Public Employment Service's leadership criteria. You promote a culture characterized by trust, openness, and security. Your work occurs in strong partnership within and outside your own department and in good cooperation with labor organizations. Basic Requirements for the Position Current experience in management with operational, budget, and personnel responsibility, where you have been a manager of other managers As well as Experience leading and implementing cross-organizational change and development work Experience serving in a management group and driving shared issues together with other managers Relevant academic education, or equivalent experience/competence acquired in other ways Additional Merits for the Position Experience with inter-agency cooperation on matters concerning welfare fraud, incorrect payments, benefit fraud, labor market crime, or related areas Experience managing employees working with control, supervision, inspection, or investigation Multi-year experience from public sector operations Experience with operations related to labor market issues Experience managing operations with employees at multiple locations To succeed in the role, you need to have Ability to effectively communicate vision, goals, and values Good analytical skills and ability to handle large amounts of information The position is classified as confidential and a security review with criminal record check will be conducted before an employment decision is made.
