About the position As Department Head for Legal and Security, you play a central role in building up operations and shaping a strong management team. You lead the department's strategic work and are responsible for developing working methods, structures, and culture that support our long-term direction. The role as department head entails overall responsibility for operations, budget, and personnel – and you drive the development of four units within legal matters, security and preparedness, information management, and procurement, quality and regulatory compliance. You report to the Director General and are part of the agency's management group together with six other department heads. The role involves working in mission-critical operations where high security and good preparedness are central. You will also lead work in an environment where several of our deliverables are subject to medical device regulations, where broad experience and the ability to create good collaboration become important for building a stable and development-oriented organization. You have a central role in our mission-critical operations where we offer digital solutions for health, providing healthcare professionals better conditions and increasing patient safety. About you To succeed in the role, you need to be a confident and clear leader with high integrity and good judgment. You build trust and give experienced managers and specialists the mandate and conditions to take responsibility within their respective areas. You are strategic and have the ability to see the bigger picture and weigh different perspectives against each other. You can handle complex issues, make well-founded assessments, and make decisions even when the choices are not obvious. You are development and collaboration oriented and have the ability to create trustful relationships both within the agency and with external stakeholders. You combine integrity and respect for legal and security requirements with a pragmatic, solution-oriented, and operationally focused approach. You are courageous and action-oriented and take responsibility for both your own department's and the agency's overall development and results. We are looking for you who have: a law degree several years of current management experience with responsibility for operations, budget, and personnel several years of current experience leading other managers in a heavily regulated operation current experience leading strategic development and change work in a complex organization good knowledge of public administration and the legal basis for public operations experience with qualified collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders. It is meritorious for the position if you have: experience as a legal director, general counsel, or equivalent qualified legal leadership role experience working with security and preparedness experience with information management, data protection, or information security experience working with medical devices or national medical information systems.
