The Culture and Leisure Administration works to create an attractive and vibrant Jönköping where people can meet, develop, and live active lives. The Sports and Associations Division plays a key role in this work by creating good conditions for sports, movement, community, and a strong associational life. Your New Job
Sports and Associations is one of three operational divisions within the Culture and Leisure Administration and consists of just over 90 employees, of whom four unit heads and two development engineers report directly to the department head. The division is responsible for the municipality's swimming and sports facilities, support for associational life, and the development of future facilities.
As department head, you have overall responsibility for operations, finances, personnel, and working environment. You lead through managers, drive development and change initiatives, and participate in the administration's management group. The role involves close collaboration with politics, other administrations, the associational sector, and external parties.
The coming years will be characterized by several major development projects and investments, including the new Rosenlundsbad, development of sports facilities, and extensive renovations and new construction. At the same time, the operation needs to meet increased demands and expectations through innovation, digitalization, and new ways of working. You will have an important role in leading the operation forward, both in ongoing initiatives and in helping to shape its long-term development.
Your Qualifications
We are looking for someone who has:
University education or other relevant post-secondary education combined with corresponding experience.
Experience in management and leadership positions with budget, operations, and personnel responsibility.
Experience leading development and change initiatives.
Experience working in a politically governed organization.
Very good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both verbally and in writing.
To succeed in this role, you are a confident and clear leader with good strategic ability. You create engagement and participation, build strong relationships, and have the ability to make well-founded decisions even in complex situations. It is an advantage if you have experience with sports and associational matters, facilities and property matters, and managing other managers.

This position is a permanent full-time employment. Duty hours include daytime, evening, and weekends based on operational needs.
