About the Organization
Within Region Västernorrland, approximately 30 AT positions are being filled in spring 2027 with 18 months of service. We recruit AT physicians with the region's future competency supply in focus, and as an AT physician you are important to us. Our ambition is that you will develop during your AT service and even after completing AT, you will want to continue being part of Region Västernorrland.
At Region Västernorrland, you can apply for AT in Sundsvall, Sollefteå, or Örnsköldsvik. We offer a developmental AT that prepares well for specialist service. We have one of Sweden's highest AT salaries. If you live outside Västernorrland and need to relocate to do AT with us, we offer relocation allowance up to 20,000 kr.
All AT positions are fixed-term employment contracts according to law/agreement with start as early as February 22, 2027.

Job Responsibilities
The AT position is based on clinical work under supervision, combined with formalized training. AT in Region Västernorrland consists of 18 months of service divided among surgical activities (4.5 months), medical activities (4.5 months), psychiatry (3 months), and general medicine (6 months). You also have the opportunity to extend your service with one month of elective placement.
The AT position begins with joint introduction and training February 22, 2027 - March 7, 2027 (weeks 8-9). Beyond that, the employment continues with clinical placement either week 10 or week 24.
In your application, we want you to attach a CV and personal letter, where you state why you are applying to our region and which location you primarily want to do your AT in. If you have work certificates from healthcare-related work, we want you to attach those as well.
For those who proceed in the process, we will request an extract from the police's criminal record, it is advantageous to have it ready in advance of a possible interview. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
Qualifications
We are looking for you who:
- Have a medical degree and, where applicable, a decision from the National Board of Health and Welfare to do AT in Sweden
- Have Swedish language skills in speech and writing at least at level C1 according to the Council of Europe's level scale
It is meritorious if you:
- Have worked as a substitute physician but also in other healthcare-related professions
- Have work experience within Region Västernorrland
