About the Operations
Within Region Västernorrland, approximately 30 AT positions are being filled in spring 2027 with 18 months of service. We recruit AT physicians with a focus on the region's future competency supply, and as an AT physician, you are important to us. Our ambition is that you will develop during your AT service and continue to be part of Region Västernorrland after completing your AT.
At Region Västernorrland, you can apply for AT in Sundsvall, Sollefteå, or Örnsköldsvik. We offer a developmental AT that is well-prepared for specialist service. We have one of Sweden's highest AT salaries. If you live outside Västernorrland and need to relocate to complete your AT with us, we offer relocation assistance up to 20,000kr.
All AT positions are time-limited employment contracts according to law/agreement with start no earlier than February 22, 2027.

Work Tasks
The AT service is based on clinical work under supervision, combined with formalized training. AT at Region Västernorrland consists of 18 months of service divided into operating activities (4.5 months), medical activities (4.5 months), psychiatry (3 months), and general medicine (6 months). You also have the opportunity to extend your service with one month of elective placement.
The AT service begins with joint introduction and training February 22-March 7, 2027 (weeks 8-9). Beyond that, the employment continues with clinical placement either week 10 or week 24.
In your application, we want you to attach your CV and a personal letter, where you state why you are applying to our region and which location you primarily want to do your AT in. If you have work certificates from healthcare-related work, we want you to attach these as well.
For those who proceed in the process, we will request extracts from the police's criminal record register; it is advantageous to have this available prior to a possible interview. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who:
- Has a medical degree and, if applicable, a decision from the National Board of Health and Welfare to complete AT in Sweden
- Has Swedish language skills in speaking and writing at least at level C1 according to the Council of Europe scale
It is meritorious if you:
- Have worked as a locum junior physician or in other healthcare-related professions
- Have work experience within Region Västernorrland
