Åseda School F-6 is a municipal elementary school in Uppvidinge Municipality with approximately 266 students. The school also operates an after-school program. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES We are looking for someone with strong commitment to children's learning and development and the ability to build safe and trusting relationships. As a student assistant at Åseda School F-6, you support students based on their individual needs and abilities. Support can be provided during lessons, breaks, and other parts of the school day. You collaborate closely with teaching staff, other school personnel, and student health services to create a safe, accessible, and supportive learning environment. Your work includes: • Providing educational and social support to individual students or student groups. • Helping students understand instructions, begin, and complete assignments. • Supporting students in social situations, transitions, and activities throughout the school day. • Working preventatively to create safety, focus, and effective routines. • Actively participating in break activities and other joint activities. • Planning, implementing, and following up on support measures together with responsible educators. The position requires that you can be active with students and participate in outdoor activities, sports, excursions, and play. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for someone with experience working with children and students, preferably in elementary school or after-school programs. You need to be able to observe and interpret students' needs, behaviors, and social signals and adapt your approach to the situation. You are a safe and trustworthy adult role model with a professional, clear, and calm demeanor. You have the ability to remain calm in challenging situations and can help students manage emotions, conflicts, and changes. We appreciate if you have completed upper secondary education focused on children and leisure, student assistant training, or other education and experience that the employer considers equivalent. It is an advantage if you have: • Experience working with students in need of special support. • Knowledge of neurodevelopmental disabilities, NPF. • Experience with calm, clear teaching methods. • Experience working in elementary school or after-school programs. As a person, you are flexible, responsible, solution-oriented, and responsive. You have great patience and the ability to create structure and predictability for students. You collaborate well with colleagues and guardians while taking own initiatives within your role. Great weight will be placed on personal suitability. Salary form: Monthly salary. Employment type: Fixed-term employment. Duration: 3-6 months, start date: 2026-09-21, end date: 2026-12-31. Work hours: Daytime. Salary expectations should be stated in your application.
