About the Operation
Welcome to a workplace with varied and stimulating tasks that is undergoing reorganization and change. Adult psychiatry in Dalarna is a unified specialist operation and is part of the Psychiatry division within Health and Medical Care. The psychiatric clinic in Avesta will offer psychiatric specialist care to the adult population in Avesta and Hedemora municipalities.
Our mission is to assess, diagnose, treat, and rehabilitate patients with severe psychiatric conditions. We strive to see people from a holistic perspective and help patients find their own resources to increase well-being and improve their quality of life.
The clinic has broad specialist psychiatric expertise with various professional groups working interprofessionally. We collaborate with psychiatric inpatient care, municipalities, other health and medical services, and other societal actors. The clinic is located on the hospital grounds at Avesta Lasarett in spaces that provide a pleasant and calm environment. You will join a workplace with good atmosphere, open climate, and excellent collegial cooperation. The clinic consists of approximately 30 staff members, including nurses, nursing assistants, social workers, licensed psychotherapists, psychologists, physicians, occupational therapists, medical secretaries, and managers.
Region Dalarna offers a wellness allowance of 2000 kr/year. We actively work with wellness and work environment. There is access to gym facilities and walking areas next to the hospital.
Job Responsibilities
Your main tasks will include assessment and evaluation of functional and activity capacity as well as treatment interventions. You will deliver occupational therapy treatment both individually and in groups, and assess the need for and prescribe cognitive aids. Within Region Dalarna, the occupational therapy process Occupational Therapy Intervention Process Model, OTIPM (Fisher, 2009) is used. Current assessment instruments may include ADL taxonomy and GAP for daily activities.
In addition to close collaboration with others at the clinic, you will coordinate with other stakeholders such as Försäkringskassan (Swedish Social Insurance Agency), Arbetsförmedlingen (Swedish Public Employment Service), municipalities, and employers. As new staff, you will receive an introduction where you get to experience our entire operation. We offer group supervision and we continuously work with improvement efforts. We work daytime hours, Monday through Friday with the possibility of flexible hours when work allows.
Qualifications
Requirements
Licensed occupational therapist. This position requires that you hold a valid license for the current profession. Your professional license will be verified against the National Board of Health and Welfare's register of licensed health and medical care personnel (HOSP) before any offer of employment.
Personal Qualities
Good collaboration skills, ability to make decisions and handle change. Be organized and at the same time flexible. Enjoy challenges and feel secure taking personal responsibility as well as a willingness to work in a team. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.
