Do you want to help lay the foundation for the life we live and that builds the world around us? LKAB's open-pit mine Leveäniemi is located in Svappavaara, about 25 miles southeast of Kiruna. In the open-pit mine, we extract iron ore by drilling and blasting, then crushing and screening the ore into raw material for pellet production. Your Role As an Occupational Health and Safety Coordinator in Svappavaara, you are an important support function for the business's managers in matters concerning occupational health and safety. You contribute specialized expertise, provide support in systematic occupational health and safety work, and work closely with the business to promote a safe and sustainable workplace. The role involves many contact points and close collaboration with managers, employees, contractors, and other occupational health and safety functions within LKAB. You are part of the KMA/Environment department in Svappavaara and collaborate with colleagues in external environment and HR. The role offers great opportunity to influence, develop working methods, and contribute to an even safer work environment. In this role, you will, among other things: Support managers in workplace-related occupational health and safety matters Play a central role in occupational health and safety work before, during, and after maintenance shutdowns Drive smaller tactical and organizational improvement initiatives within the occupational health and safety area Quality assure and actively support accident investigations Provide support in risk assessments and preventive occupational health and safety measures Coordinate and develop systematic occupational health and safety work (SAM) What You Bring We are looking for someone with a strong commitment to safety and occupational health and safety who wants to contribute to a safe and sustainable workplace.
