As an important part of building society in northern Sweden, where some of the most critical investments are being made, we are now seeking the right person for this important role as Senior Project Manager with solid expertise in steel, steel construction, and assembly for one of our complex projects. About the Role of Senior Project Manager - Steel As Project Manager - Steel, you have overall operational responsibility for production within steel and assembly in your assigned area of responsibility. You lead and manage production in close collaboration with the Block Chief, project management, and other production functions. You are responsible for ensuring that work is carried out efficiently, safely, and with the right quality, as well as in accordance with the project's schedule and technical requirements. The role involves significant responsibility for planning and coordination of steel operations, where multiple contractors, trades, and technical disciplines work in parallel. Therefore, you need to have a good understanding of the entire production chain – from delivery and logistics to assembly, inspection, and finished construction. The role includes, among other things, that you: Lead and drive production within steel, steel construction, and assembly with clear operational responsibility. Plan, coordinate, and follow up on steel operations, assembly activities, and related production tasks. Lead and coordinate tradespeople, subcontractors, assembly teams, and suppliers. Ensure that steel structures and assembly work are performed according to drawings, technical specifications, quality requirements, and applicable standards. Plan and coordinate deliveries, lifts, assembly sequence, setup, and logistics related to steel structures. Ensure that production follows the project's schedule and actively work to identify and manage deviations and production obstacles. Work proactively with production planning, resource management, risk management, and work preparations. Coordinate steel operations with other disciplines such as concrete, earthwork, installations, and other building work. Ensure that work environment and safety requirements are met, with special focus on high-risk activities such as heavy lifting, assembly, and work at height. Follow up on quality and documentation and ensure that any deviations are handled in a structured manner. Contribute to continuous improvements in production, assembly planning, and work methods. Function as an experienced leader and support to the Block Chief, project management, and other project managers. As Senior Project Manager, you are expected to work independently, make decisions within your area of responsibility, and take clear ownership of production from planning to completed work. Your Profile We are looking for someone with 4-5 years of experience in steel production and assembly within larger construction, infrastructure, or industrial projects. For this role, it is important that you not only have general experience as a project manager, but that you have practical experience leading and coordinating work within steel and steel construction. You have: Several years of experience as a project manager or Senior Project Manager within larger construction, infrastructure, or industrial projects. Documented experience with steel assembly, steel construction, or other extensive steel operations. Experience leading tradespeople, assembly teams, and subcontractors within steel. Good understanding of construction drawings, assembly documentation, and technical documentation. Experience with production planning, assembly planning, resource management, and production follow-up. Experience coordinating steel operations with other disciplines in complex projects. Good understanding of work environment and safety in, for example, assembly, heavy lifting, and work at height. Relevant education in construction, infrastructure, steel, or equivalent technical field, or equivalent competence acquired through work experience. Work proactively to ensure efficient collaboration and have an aptitude for building long-term and trusting relationships – both internally with colleagues and externally with subcontractors. Have good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written. B-class driver's license is a requirement. Meritorious It is particularly advantageous if you have: Experience from large industrial projects or heavy industry. Experience with extensive steel frames and heavy steel structures. Experience with assembly planning and complex lifting operations. Experience with welded and bolted steel structures. Experience with quality control and documentation within steel. Experience working according to relevant standards and requirements for the execution of steel structures. Experience from projects where steel, concrete, earthwork, and installations need to be coordinated in a complex production environment. Experience from projects with high demands on work environment, safety, quality, and documentation. Personal Qualities To succeed in this role, you are a confident and experienced production manager who is accustomed to taking responsibility for complex steel operations and driving production forward. You have the ability to create structure even when many activities are running in parallel and can quickly identify production obstacles, prioritize correctly, and make decisions. You are clear in your leadership and communicate effectively with tradespeople, subcontractors, suppliers, project management, and other disciplines. As a person, you are solution-oriented, responsible, and safety-conscious. You have a strong production focus and thrive in large and complex projects where safety, quality, schedule, and coordination are critical to the project's success. Work Location We expect 100% presence in Luleå, a prerequisite for succeeding in this role. However, it is possible to take on this role for someone who lives in another location. NCC arranges travel and accommodation, and 100% physical presence can be Monday-Thursday or alternatively Tuesday-Friday.
