Your Assignment As Operations Manager for Mälardalen, you are responsible for developing and leading an operational area with broad scope and complexity. The area encompasses several different business types, including construction contracts, HP/SR, tunnel washing and basic maintenance, as well as some of the region's major projects. The assignment involves creating long-term growth combined with good profitability, high safety standards, and strong delivery capability. You drive the business forward by developing the business, identifying new market opportunities, and ensuring that the organization has the right conditions to grow in a sustainable manner. As a member of the region's management team, you also contribute to the strategic development of the region's operations and business. Your Main Areas of Responsibility Responsibility for operational results, business development, and long-term growth. Lead a broad business portfolio with multiple operational areas and contract types. Develop market work, customer relationships, and new business opportunities in the region. Ensure good commercial governance throughout the business, from bidding and contracts to risk management and execution. Prioritize and develop the business activities and market segments that strengthen the operation's competitiveness and profitability. Build on the organization's capacity through the right expertise, staffing, and working methods. Lead operations through project and site managers as well as managers within specialized activities. Ensure that operations are conducted with high quality, a strong safety culture, and high customer satisfaction. Actively contribute to the region's development as a member of the region's management team. Who Are You? We are looking for an experienced leader with documented ability to develop both businesses and organizations in complex operations. You have experience leading through other managers and thrive in a role where you need to create direction, prioritize, and make decisions that have an impact across the entire operation. You have a strong business understanding and good experience in construction operations, for example in construction, operations and maintenance, or related areas. You are experienced in working with economics, risk assessments, bidding processes, and contracts, and have a good understanding of the commercial conditions required to create sustainable and profitable businesses. As a person, you combine a strategic perspective with the ability to translate plans into practical action. You build trust through clarity, commitment, and leadership that gives others the mandate to take responsibility and develop. At the same time, you have the ability to unite operations with different skills and assignments around common goals and priorities. We believe that you have experience leading operations where complexity, change, and growth have been a natural part of the assignment. For us, documented ability to develop business, people, and organization weighs more heavily than the size of previous operations measured in revenue or number of employees. To succeed in the role, we see that you have: Experience in construction contracts as well as operations and maintenance activities. Experience in management roles with personnel, operational, and financial responsibility. Experience leading and developing other managers or leaders. Good understanding of business, economics, profitability, and risk management. Experience with budget, forecast, and results monitoring. Very good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written. B-class driver's license. It is a merit if you have: Experience in an Operations Manager role or equivalent. Experience in change and improvement work in larger organizations. Experience in operational development with a focus on profitability, structure, and monitoring. Part of Something Larger Svevia is today Sweden's largest operations contractor.
