Riga Center for Child, Youth and Family Social Support is a public institution of Riga that provides:
short-term and long-term social care and social rehabilitation services for children and youth;
crisis intervention services and social work with families with children and pregnant women;
crisis center services with or without accommodation for children, youth, families with children and pregnant women;
prevention in social work and psychosocial assistance for children and youth before and after the end of out-of-home care until the age of 24;
social rehabilitation programs for children and youth, families with children and pregnant women.
The position's objective is to provide age and health-appropriate care for children and youth in a family-like environment. Help care for children and meet their needs, develop hygiene and cultural behavior skills, household management skills, and help plan and ensure meaningful leisure time.
We will entrust you with:
coordinating daily work with group staff members and activities in child care and facility maintenance;
following the instructions of the group worker regarding child education and development;
changing children's bed linens and cleaning facilities according to requirements;
helping the group worker prepare and maintain a safe and homely environment in the group;
helping develop understanding in children and youth about a homely, orderly environment and safe conditions at home;
according to the child's age and abilities, promote skills in dressing and undressing, organizing clothes and belongings, teaching personal hygiene skills;
according to the child's age and abilities, help with using the toilet, cutting nails, washing procedures, brushing teeth and hair care.
We expect:
secondary professional or secondary education with an additionally obtained professional qualification certificate (in the care field);
excellent state language proficiency, one foreign language proficiency at communication level;
skill to economically organize group household management and teach it to children;
skill to develop hygiene habits in children and help develop self-care skills;
skill to organize children and youth leisure time.
