Workplace Description Working in the Police IT department means being a vital part of police operations and crime prevention efforts. The Android Developer position is placed in the Vehicle Systems group, and our mission is to ensure that police officers in the field have the best possible IT support in the new generation of police vehicles. We have a modern and uniquely advanced IT platform in the new vehicles that serves as a powerful tool to improve the protection of personnel and equipment, as well as enhance the police's ability to prevent, investigate, and prosecute crime. In this project, you'll be part of connecting the entire chain—from complex technology to finished end product for our field users. You'll be based centrally on Kungsholmen in Stockholm, with the option to work from home up to two days per week. In this role, you'll be responsible for the entire lifecycle—from new development and further development to ongoing maintenance—of several critical products. Your main focus will be on building the next generation software platform for Android in police vehicles. Your responsibilities will include: • Participating in the development of a new Android platform for police vehicles • Designing, developing, and further developing Android applications in Kotlin for police vehicles • Working closely with UX, backend, and other mobile developers • Contributing to architecture and technical decisions • Collaborating closely with the business to understand operational needs • Working with secure communication and authentication Want to learn more about developing mobile solutions for police operations? Alternatively, equivalent experience acquired that the Swedish Police Authority considers equivalent • Relevant and current experience with Android development, preferably from a large organization • Experience working with CI/CD and version control in Git • Experience with Jetpack Compose • Very good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish Employment requires Swedish citizenship. It's a merit if you also have: • Competence in central parts of the Android platform, specifically lifecycle management, navigation structures, and modern architecture components • Basic knowledge or experience with iOS development (Swift or SwiftUI) • Certificates and PKI • Experience developing with strict quality requirements and performance-critical IT systems • Experience with hardware-oriented development focusing on streaming, voice, audio, or video Personal Qualities We're looking for someone with analytical ability, responsibility, and strong drive combined with creative thinking.
