We are seeking a teaching assistant in business administration for a limited-time position during the fall term 2026 at the School of Business.
Background
For our students in introductory courses, much is new and unfamiliar in the university environment, and they need support to begin their studies and understand the instruction. As a teaching assistant, you can provide support to students while also assisting and complementing the teachers. A teaching assistant is part of the teaching team with access to an office space and participates in both instruction and workplace meetings.
Responsibilities
The primary task is to be available to answer student questions, but also to participate in certain instruction, for example tutorial sessions. Since you are expected to pursue your own studies in parallel, your activities will be planned together with the course instructors.
Qualifications
To be eligible for employment as a teaching assistant, you must be admitted to an undergraduate or graduate program. Additionally, we prefer that you have pursued studies in Financial Accounting at the bachelor's level.
We are looking for someone who has demonstrated interest in educational and student matters during your studies. We emphasize personal qualities such as the ability to work independently, good teamwork skills, a service-oriented approach, and the ability to prioritize tasks.
Information
The position is 50%, for approximately 3 months starting October 12, 2026. Salary is provided in accordance with the local collective agreement.
Teaching assistants may be employed for one year at a time, and the total employment period for a teaching assistant may not exceed three years.
For further information about the position, contact Unit Manager Gun Abrahamsson, e-mail: [email protected].
At Örebro University, we expect all employees to be open to development and change, take responsibility for their own work performance and quality, show commitment to collaboration and contributing to development, and demonstrate respect for others through a constructive and professional approach.
Örebro University actively works for a work environment with equal conditions and values the qualities that diversity brings to our operations.
