Do you have a genuine interest in jewelry, an eye for detail, and good business sense? Then we'd love to meet you!
Pawnbroking is so much more than just lending against collateral. With us, you'll meet people every day, appraise exciting items, and work with everything from jewelry and watches to other interesting valuables.
A large part of our business revolves around jewelry – and we love it. That's why we're looking for someone who genuinely enjoys looking at a piece of jewelry and wondering what it is, who made it, how old it might be, and what it's worth.
You don't need to know everything from the start. Here, you never stop learning. But you need to have curiosity, the desire to learn, and a genuine interest in the industry.
About the Job
Pawnbroking provides loans to individuals against movable property. Items that aren't redeemed are sold through our popular online auctions and shipped to customers throughout Europe. We also have retail sales, primarily of jewelry.
As a pawn broker, you'll have a varied job where you, among other things:
meet customers in the store, by phone, and via email
appraise jewelry, watches, and other valuables
sell jewelry and other exciting valuables in the store
prepare and conduct our online auctions
learn more about gold, gemstones, watches, antiques, and other valuables
have the opportunity to develop within the pawn brokering profession.
Meeting people is an important part of the job. Therefore, you need to be confident, service-oriented, and able to handle customer interactions professionally.
Who Are You?
We believe you are a person who:
loves jewelry and has a genuine interest in gold, gemstones, and design
has a strong work ethic
is curious and wants to keep learning more
is thorough and enjoys order, structure, and routines
finds it easy to meet different types of people
can collaborate but also take personal responsibility and work independently.
Experience from the goldsmith, jewelry, or auction industry is highly desirable. If you've worked in retail sales, customer service, or perhaps in restaurants, that's also interesting. However, the most important thing is who you are, your drive, and your interest in jewelry and people.
A Small Company with Big Ambitions – and Long-term Vision
We are a company that has been in the same ownership since 1998. We are a small work team that truly enjoys our work and enjoys working together.
With us, you're not just a person on the payroll. You become an important part of a small team where we know each other, help one another, and together drive the business forward.
That's why we're not looking for someone who just wants a job for now. We want to find you – someone who sees this as the beginning of something long-term – a workplace where you can learn an exciting profession, develop, and eventually become really skilled at appraising and selling jewelry and other valuables.
This is a profession where you can continue learning new things for your entire career. One day you're holding a gold piece of jewelry from the 1820s in your hand, the next day a fake Rolex, a unique Lisa Larson piece, or something you've never seen before.
That's exactly what makes the job so fun.
Practical Information
This is a full-time position with the possibility of immediate hiring. We're open weekdays from 10:00–17:00. No evening or weekend work. Interviews are conducted on a rolling basis. During the interview, you'll visit us and see how a pawnbroker operates.
