WORK TASKS We are now looking for a dedicated 3D/GIS Engineer who wants to be part of developing the next generation of geodata and visualization solutions within Växjö Municipality. About the Role You contribute to the development of 3D handling and visualization, GIS services, automated geodata processes, and data-driven approaches within the urban development process. About the Workplace The Urban Development Administration is responsible for planning, development, and management of the built environment. Within the Strategy and Planning Division is the Geodata Unit, which works with the municipality's geodata supply, GIS platforms, map production, surveying activities, geodata quality, and digital urban development processes. The Geodata Unit has developed and currently consists of a unit manager, geodata coordinator, GIS engineers, map engineers, and surveying engineers. Together we work to make geodata a central and strategic resource in the municipality's development. We drive the development of data-driven approaches, digital twins, visualization, automation, and smart digital services that create value for operations, decision-makers, and residents. Work Tasks As a 3D/GIS Engineer, you will play an important role in developing the municipality's digital urban development process. You work both operationally and strategically, independently and in close collaboration with colleagues and operations within the municipality. Develop 3D models and visualizations of planned and existing environments for, for example, detailed plans, comprehensive plans, and urban development projects. Participation in strategic development and innovation projects related to 3D and GIS Support and guidance to the municipality's operations regarding 3D visualization Develop and use XR solutions, such as AR, VR, and MR Integration between GIS, BIM, and other operational system data Visualizations for planning, decision support, and communication Analysis, structuring, and refinement of geodata Development of GIS services and digital workflows You become an important part of the work to strengthen the use of 3D, GIS, and geodata throughout the municipality and contribute to a more efficient, sustainable, and data-driven urban development process. QUALIFICATIONS Qualifications We are looking for someone who has: Higher education or university degree in GIS, geodata, 3D technology, Architecture and design, game development, or other education that the employer considers equivalent Experience working with GIS, 3D, or geodata management Strong ability to handle, analyze, and structure geographical data Good communication skills in Swedish and English, both spoken and written Strong drive and interest in digital development Meritorious Competencies GIS and geodata platforms: ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Urban 3D and visualization: CityEngine, Unreal Engine, Unity, Cesium, and digital twins Automation and integration: FME Form, FME Flow, Python, API integrations, and database management such as SQL or PostgreSQL BIM and urban development: BIM models, IFC, Open BIM, CityGML, and geodata within physical planning or municipal operations XR technology: AR, VR, and MR Who Are You?
