Planning Manager

The Opportunity We are establishing a new Manager role within the Global Center of Competence for Power Quality function in Västerås, created to strengthen project governance, planning, and execution across complex engineering projects. This is a unique opportunity to shape a new function, define ways of working, and have a significant impact from day one. In this role, you will take overall responsibility for project planning, scheduling, and project control activities across a portfolio of projects. You will build and lead the project controls capability, ensure robust standards and methodologies, and act as a key partner to project stakeholders. The position combines strategic leadership with hands-on involvement, covering the full project lifecycle—from early planning and execution through commissioning and project close-out. As a manager, you will play a central role in driving predictability, performance, and continuous improvement across the project portfolio. Ensure projects follow governance, contract compliance, and close-out practices, while capturing lessons learned to continuously improve future project execution. Your background: A degree in Engineering, Project Management, Business, or a related field, with solid understanding of project execution in complex engineering environments. Several years of experience within project controls, planning, scheduling, or project management, preferably in engineering, industrial, or large-scale project organizations. Proven experience in leading teams or functions, with the ability to build structure, set direction, and develop people in a performance-driven environment. Strong knowledge of project planning methodologies, performance tracking, and governance, including cost, schedule, risk, and resource management. Experience working in cross-functional and international settings, collaborating with project managers, engineers, contractors, and senior stakeholders. R&D Scientist, Experimental Applied Physics
