The girl has no spoken language but is very communicative through sounds, sign language, and body language. You will be her interpreter and translator to people she meets. She uses TalkPad. I need help with toileting, supervision while I sleep, taking my medications, helping me get to different activities, and being my support in daily life, where my disability sets limits. I have a muscle weakness that means I need to do stretching exercises regularly. I don't have spoken language but communicate using pictures, body language, gestures, my communication book PODD, and my digital communication device. I also use a pointer lamp to help. I also have epilepsy, so I need help if and when I have seizures. I eat via a tube/button in my stomach and it's good if you have experience with this, otherwise I'll teach you. If you have experience or training, that's a plus. We're looking for a woman who is easy to work with and has the ability to handle multiple tasks at once. You should of course enjoy working with children. We prefer that you have at least nursing assistant training or equivalent, and also previous experience working with children. We would like you to have experience with autism, feeding buttons, and tube feeding.
