The Swedish Prison and Probation Service (Statens institutionsstyrelse, SiS) is an authority responsible for individually tailored compulsory care for youth with complex psychosocial problems and for adults with substance abuse issues. Job Description At SiS youth home Klarälvsgården, we have boys aged 16-21 years serving closed youth care sentences. The psychologist's overarching task is to reduce the youth's risk of relapse into violence and other antisocial behaviors by strengthening protective factors aimed at establishing adaptation in society. As a psychologist, you work at all three units and are part of Klarälvsgården's treatment team, student welfare team, and local team where you contribute psychological perspective to the work. As a psychologist at the institution, a portion of your working time involves structured risk and needs assessments. Other individual-focused work includes individual treatment interventions, assessment conversations, and suicide risk assessments. The psychologist's role at SiS is consultative and educational through work with trauma-informed care (TMO) and suicide prevention, which also includes supervising staff. Assistant Criminal Care Director at VO Norrtälje

About the Swedish Prison and Probation Service The Swedish Prison and Probation Service is growing – we are building new facilities, renovating, and expanding, and we are now seeking more employees. Our most important goal is to reduce recidivism – to break the vicious cycle. When we succeed, society becomes safer and more secure for everyone. We are the authority responsible for prisons, probation services, remand prisons, and inmate transport. The Norrtälje Operations Area is part of the Swedish Prison and Probation Service's Stockholm region and includes the Norrtälje prison. We are undergoing a major capacity expansion, and much is happening in the operations area in the form of renovations and new construction. Within a few years, we are expected to have capacity for approximately 600 inmates and approximately 450 employees. The largest occupational group is prison officers, but we also employ healthcare professionals, administrative staff, educators, production managers, and others. We have now introduced a new management structure that creates a new management level between the Criminal Care Director (facility director) and the Prison Inspector.
