About the Swedish Prison and Probation Service The Swedish Prison and Probation Service is growing – we are building new facilities, renovating, and expanding, and we are now seeking more employees. Our most important goal is to reduce recidivism – to break the vicious cycle. When we succeed, society becomes safer and more secure for everyone. We are the authority responsible for prisons, probation services, remand prisons, and inmate transport. The Norrtälje Operations Area is part of the Swedish Prison and Probation Service's Stockholm region and includes the Norrtälje prison.
