The Swedish Prison and Probation Service (Statens institutionsstyrelse, SiS) is an authority responsible for individually tailored compulsory care for youth with complex psychosocial problems and for adults with substance abuse issues. SiS youth home Klarälvsgården receives non-compulsory school age boys with psychosocial problems, criminal behavior, and substance abuse issues. We have the task of receiving boys with extended need for psychiatric interventions. Job Description At SiS youth home Klarälvsgården, we have boys aged 16-21 years serving closed youth care sentences. The psychologist's overarching task is to reduce the youth's risk of relapse into violence and other antisocial behaviors by strengthening protective factors aimed at establishing adaptation in society. As a psychologist, you work at all three units and are part of Klarälvsgården's treatment team, student welfare team, and local team where you contribute psychological perspective to the work. As a psychologist at the institution, a portion of your working time involves structured risk and needs assessments. Other individual-focused work includes individual treatment interventions, assessment conversations, and suicide risk assessments. The psychologist's role at SiS is consultative and educational through work with trauma-informed care (TMO) and suicide prevention, which also includes supervising staff. Work tasks are varied with great opportunity to structure and prioritize your own work. Tasks vary between units, but common to all psychological work at Klarälvsgården is that work occurs in an interprofessional manner in daily operations with the institution's various expert functions such as teachers, special educators, nurses, family therapists, and other treatment staff. At Klarälvsgården, we work with relationships as the focus, which is the foundation for all care and treatment. Our treatment programs are based on CBT principles, which require good knowledge in this area to guide our staff. Qualifications We are looking for someone who has - Psychologist licensure - Experience working with youth who have problem behaviors (or other equivalent experience) - Experience with staff supervision - Driver's license (Category B) It is meritorious if you also have: - Good experience and appreciation for working in an interprofessional team - Good knowledge of psychological assessment and evaluation - Experience working with clients in locked environments and/or within psychiatry - Knowledge of MBT - Experience working with trauma - Training in TMO We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
