General medicine is characterized by meetings with people of all ages with all kinds of health-related problems. In specialist general medicine work, you will follow an individual's various health issues over time and in your assessment consider the person's entire life situation. Chief Physician, Otolaryngology (ENT)
Visby Hospital has a broad healthcare mission and provides Gotland with acute and planned specialist care. The island location requires the resources of a large hospital while simultaneously offering the proximity and community feel of a smaller one. A wide range of services are represented within both surgical and medical specialties. The ENT department is responsible for ear, nose, and throat care for Gotland's approximately 60,000 residents and handles around 7,000 visits per year. Operations are conducted in close collaboration with other surgical specialties, the dermatology clinic, and the Oral and Maxillofacial Center. We strive to maintain as much ENT care as possible at Visby Hospital. We have well-established cooperation with Stockholm and regular consulting physicians in tumor surgery, otologic surgery, plastic surgery, audiology, and phoniatrics. Patients requiring highly specialized care are referred primarily to Karolinska University Hospital in Stockholm. The ENT department has six chief physician positions and is currently undergoing a generational transition. Today we are a young team with three chief physicians, two specialist physicians, and two residents, along with several regular locum physicians who provide on-call coverage and bring inspiration and knowledge. At the Department of Diagnostics and Intervention, we conduct research and teach within nine different subject areas in close collaboration with the four Norrland regions. We have internationally recognized research environments where the breadth of subject areas enables innovation and collaboration across boundaries. Most of our researchers and teachers work clinically, and our facilities are located at the regional hospitals in Östersund, Sunderbyn, Sundsvall, and Umeå - in the heart of the activity. Duties The position includes teaching and supervision in the field of surgery within education at bachelor's and advanced levels in the medical program. Teaching in other programs and courses and/or in adjacent subject areas may be included, as well as teaching in general competencies that are part of professional education. Some teaching will take place through internet-based distance methods. Teaching is conducted in Swedish and English. The position includes research and development work, as well as teaching and supervision within doctoral-level education in surgery. Administrative tasks and assignments within the department and the Faculty of Medicine are included. Here we work with a target group that requires extra support, structure, and competence in daily care work. Trevnaden is centrally located in Malmö, near Södervärn. The residence has a large, park-like garden with walking paths, flowers, berry bushes, and a grilling area. The facility has five floors consisting of eight to ten apartments. Job Responsibilities As a nursing assistant at Trevnaden's group home, you will work with people who have dementia with extended care needs. All our work is permeated by TERMA. You will work with people experiencing behavioral and psychological symptoms due to dementia, known as BPSD. Examples of these symptoms may include aggression, anxiety, apathy, hallucinations, or sleep disturbances. In your role as a nursing assistant, you will provide care, service, support, and conduct social activities based on each user's individual needs and preferences. Being able to see and interpret the residents' needs and wishes is important as we work in a person-centered manner at the residence. Your work also includes developing implementation plans and BPSD plans with high quality standards. The work also includes cleaning, laundry, providing advice and information, and motivating and stimulating residents to help them manage as much as possible independently. The work requires medical care work following delegation by a nurse. You will be a contact person for one or two residents, and your role as contact person involves ensuring the resident's needs are met. Documentation in the Lifecare system is also part of your responsibilities. Qualifications We are looking for someone who is trained as a nursing assistant and has studied psychiatry as part of your education. You have substantial experience working in dementia care, BPSD, and experience working according to a person-centered approach. We would like to see that you have previously worked with people with dementia and extended care needs. Star-marked training is a plus. TERMA training is an advantage. It is also important that you have an interest in working with person-centered care to create a meaningful daily life for our residents. The work requires good experience in documenting and working based on established implementation plans, BPSD plans, and social documentation.
