The oncology section conducts both planned and acute operations and cares for patients in curative and palliative stages. Oncology nursing is a central part of your work, for example chemotherapy treatment, radiation therapy, side effects, and various complications that may arise from treatment, pain management, and palliative care. We place great emphasis on good conduct characterized by respect and ethics in the team and patient interactions. The team cares for adult patients with various cancer diagnoses, which means your work will be varied and contain many different tasks. These tasks include, among other things, chemotherapy handling, antibiotic administration, transfusions which are often given via central venous catheters. Work Team You are a cheerful group that has fun together and supports each other in daily work. We use reflection after each shift to highlight the positive and negative during the day. On the unit there is a reception nurse who provides daily support to each team and a coordinator who coordinates and handles much of the administrative work. Furthermore, there are four nurse managers who have special responsibility for you as new staff. There is an oncology on-call service available 24/7, which is also responsible for rounds during weekends. A pharmacist stocks the medication cart, medication dispenser, and basic medication supplies. We also have a service assistant who handles ordering and restocking of supplies. The unit also has a meal service assistant. About You You are a licensed nurse or licensed specialist nurse in oncology or medical nursing. You enjoy being part of a multidisciplinary team with the patient in focus, where all professions learn from each other. You have good empathetic ability to understand someone else's perspective or situation without taking over their feelings. We are looking for you who find it easy to work independently and collaborate well with other people. You create engagement and participation. You also have the ability to plan, organize, and prioritize work in an efficient way. Since you work in constant dialogue with inpatients, family members, colleagues, and other departments, it is a requirement that you have good knowledge of Swedish language, both spoken and written.
