Support Assistant for Freja Daily Activities

About the job Are you our new colleague who wants to provide support to people in daily activities, meaningful employment? We are now looking for a support assistant! We work with people with autism, intellectual disabilities, and psychiatric conditions, including dual diagnoses. The people we meet have a great need to understand and be understood based on their abilities and circumstances. It is required that you as staff work with a low-affective approach and meet the individual based on their needs. You work daily using alternative and augmentative communication (AAC) such as visual supports, TAKK, digital aids, and clarifying pedagogy. We work with the premise that each individual should be involved and have the opportunity to influence how the day unfolds. The individual should be given the opportunity to develop toward as independent a life as possible. As a support assistant, you will be a contact person for one or more participants and maintain contact with family members/guardians and other networks for your participant(s), as well as actively work with implementation plans and continuous documentation. You will work closely with our support educators to find working methods based on evidence-based practices related to the target group. We also have an activity bus that we use daily to carry out various activities with our participants. Daily activities at Tuppfjätsgatan moved into new premises in spring 2024 and the operations are continuously developing, which is why it is important that you as staff have great patience and flexibility, the ability to think creatively while maintaining calmness. About you We are looking for someone with a degree from the Care and Health Program, support assistant training, or Children and Leisure Time Program with a focus on social or pedagogical work. The education requirement is also met if you have a post-secondary specialization in the disability field covering at least 200 vocational education credits, 120 university credits, or a combination thereof equivalent to at least four semesters of full-time studies. Alternatively, 60 university credits and at least two years of experience working with support and services for people with disabilities. The education should include relevant credits in behavioral science, pedagogy, psychology, social work, and (psychiatric) care or other education that the employer deems equivalent. To be able to document, you need to master the Swedish language in speech and writing, which requires passing grades in Swedish 1, Swedish as a Second Language 1, or equivalent. If you do not meet the qualification requirements in Swedish 1 or Swedish as a Second Language 1, you may be offered to take a language test through Educateit. Experience working with target groups within autism, intellectual disabilities, and psychiatry is a requirement for the position. You also need to have experience with alternative and augmentative communication, clarifying pedagogy, and low-affective interaction. Driver's license category B is required. Experience in welfare technology/communication is considered a merit. We are looking for someone who takes responsibility for their own tasks and the group's tasks.
