Recreation Instructor at IES Värmdö At Internationella Engelska Skolan (IES), we make a difference in our students' lives. We follow the Swedish curriculum and have up to 50% of instruction in English. The school opened in August 2021 and has in recent years established a strong school and recreation culture characterized by safety, study focus, and good relationships. The school is located in Charlottendal in Gustavsberg, with easy commuting from Stockholm. It takes approximately 20 minutes by bus from Slussen, and the bus stop is located right next to the school. We are now seeking an engaged recreation instructor for our valued after-school program on a full-time basis, with a start date by agreement. About the Role As a recreation instructor with us, you work both during class time and within the after-school program. During class time, you collaborate closely with the classroom teacher to support students with structure, relationships, and study focus, as well as contribute to a safe learning environment in the classroom. In the afternoons, you work closely with students and implement structured, creative, and engaging activities that you plan together with colleagues. We want to create an after-school program where students feel safe, have fun, and at the same time have the opportunity to develop both socially and educationally, in accordance with the curriculum for after-school programs. We are looking for you—someone who enjoys building relationships with students and wants to be an important and trusted adult throughout the school day. You are a clear leader and a good role model with the ability to create structure while building good relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues. We place great emphasis on collaboration skills, flexibility, and a positive attitude. Since we are a bilingual school, it is important that you feel comfortable communicating in both Swedish and English.
