Primary Care Department Uppsala Our 1,800 employees work with primary care and health services in Uppsala County. We offer a broad range of services within primary care. Our patients meet us at Region Uppsala's own health centers or within rehabilitation services, and we provide advice by phone via 1177. Our Operations The Primary Care Departments in Region Uppsala are part of the Primary Care and Health Administration, and currently there are three departments in the region. The Primary Care Department in Uppsala is located in the beautiful Ulleråker area in Uppsala and has 30 care beds. The Primary Care Unit in Tierp is located adjacent to the Health Center in Tierp and has 18 care beds. The Primary Care Department in Östhammar is located at the Health Center in Östhammar and is co-financed with Östhammar Municipality, where the region provides physician services and the municipality provides other care personnel. The department has 18 care beds. The primary care beds are primarily aimed at elderly patients who need inpatient care but do not require hospital resources for investigation. Patients arrive either by referral from primary care, by direct admission from a Mobile Primary Care Team, or from the emergency department at Akademiska Hospital. The average length of stay is approximately one week. The Primary Care Departments work closely together with a primary care perspective. Ensuring that our patients' care needs are met even after they leave the department is a very important part of our work. Therefore, we collaborate with, for example, Mobile Primary Care Teams, regular primary care, home health care, and others in the network that create value for the patient. Here we have more time for each patient and work according to a patient-centered care model. Your Role As a specialist physician with us, you will work with regular departmental duties including morning and afternoon patient rounds.
