Nursery Worker

About the Position Would you like to be part of producing forest seedlings for the forests of the future? Forest seedlings are used to regenerate harvested forests in circular forestry. Forestry is one of Sweden's largest and most important industries. We have a long tradition of using wood to build houses, produce paper products, protect homes and workplaces, and more. The forests we manage are circularly renewable if replanted. At Flåboda Nursery, we produce approximately 10 million high-quality forest seedlings annually. Would you like to contribute? What You'll Work With at Södra As a nursery worker, your tasks will vary with the seasons, and there are great opportunities to develop and grow in this varied work. During spring and summer, we work daytime shifts, mostly outdoors and in greenhouses with cultivation. In fall and winter, we work 2-shift schedules indoors with seedling sorting, mechanical treatment, packing, and shipping. The work is partly physical but also technical. During the winter half of the year, you will essentially be an operator on a semi-automated production line where the goal is to keep the production flowing smoothly. This involves monitoring, troubleshooting, maintenance, and minor repairs. All in close teamwork with your team. Wheel loader driving and forklift operation will likely become relevant after a while. Who Are We Looking For? We're looking for someone who enjoys practical work, isn't afraid to roll up their sleeves when needed, and appreciates a job that involves both machines and people. You don't need to know everything from the start – what matters is that you have the willingness to learn, good safety awareness, and enjoy working in a team where everyone plays an important role. You are solution-oriented, curious, and see possibilities rather than obstacles. It's also an advantage if you have previous experience with machines, wheel loaders, or production – but it's not a requirement. The position is a permanent employment contract and a fixed-term assignment at the nursery in Flåboda, Tingsryd Municipality. We apply a trial period. Working hours are daytime 06:48-16:00, morning shift 05:48-14:45, and evening shift 14:30-23:45. A Class B driver's license is necessary to get to and from work. What It's Like to Work at Södra At Södra, you'll have the opportunity to develop on the job while contributing to sustainable forestry that creates value for people and the environment. We highly value your personal engagement and are committed to ensuring you thrive and feel well. For your security, we offer collective agreements and good terms, as well as several benefits that are useful both at work and in your free time. Do you think this could be something for you? Then you know what to do. We really look forward to hearing from you! Want to Know More? Do you have questions about the recruitment process? Contact the responsible recruiter at [email protected]. Do you have questions about the position or the workplace? Contact recruiting manager Magnus Lindén at [email protected]. Union-related questions should be directed to [email protected], GS We look forward to hearing from you! Submit your application via the link by August 30th at the latest. We use tests as part of the recruitment process and kindly but firmly decline offers for advertising and recruitment services in connection with this announcement. Background checks may be applied. Build a Sustainable Society Södra is one of the country's largest forest industry companies and is jointly owned by more than 50,000 family forests in southern Sweden. In addition to developing forestry, we strive to always use forest raw materials in the most efficient and climate-smart way. Wood pulp, wood products, textile pulp, and bioproducts are just a few examples. By working together, we have the strength, commitment, and courage needed to build a sustainable society. This happens with our feet on the ground, our ear to the outside world, and our eyes on the future.
