About the Surgical Platoon The Surgical Platoon is a central part of the Hospital Battalion's healthcare capability and is tasked with establishing, operating, and supporting surgical activities in field environments. The platoon contributes to ensuring that qualified surgical care can be delivered near the area of operations, which increases the ability to save lives and reduce the consequences of injuries and illness. Operations include planning, establishment, and management of surgical treatment facilities as well as support to military operations with qualified healthcare. The unit is trained and exercised continuously to be able to operate nationally and internationally, and under conditions where ordinary healthcare resources are limited or heavily strained. Main Duties As an intensive care nurse, you work in a unique environment with a focus on advanced care, trauma management, and medical readiness. This can occur under pressured work conditions, while the work environment may be of a physically challenging nature. Work is conducted largely in a prehospital setting and parts of your time may be deployed abroad on international military missions. You also participate in training both as a student and instructor, participate in exercises, or plan for future operations. The role includes military training including combat training in order to be able to protect and defend your own group and patients. The position also includes clinical work as an intensive care nurse with a civilian healthcare provider. REQUIREMENTS Qualifications Licensed nurse with a specialist degree in intensive care. At least 2 years of current work experience as an intensive care nurse in an intensive care unit. Ability to make decisions and work structured in complex situations. Good cooperation skills and professional conduct. Good ability to express yourself orally and in writing in English and Swedish. Fully healthy and meets the requirements in FMFysS. Class B driver's license.
