The Intermediate Care Unit (IMA) is a relatively new care unit, which means we are still developing the unit together. It is a 24-hour operation and patients come to us from throughout the hospital. Patients cared for at IMA require a higher level of care than on a regular ward, but not as advanced as in intensive care. At IMA we have five care beds divided into two care teams, and the average length of stay is approximately 1-2 days.
