About us You will join the communications unit at the Bioeconomy division. You will report to the Communications Manager for the Bioeconomy division and be part of a team with four other communicators. About the role In your role as a communicator, you will work closely with researchers, project managers, business developers, and communication colleagues in your own unit as well as in the central Brand and Corporate Communications department. As a communicator at RISE, you will also collaborate with external partners within our projects, initiatives, and programs. Researcher Electric Power Systems

Are you driven by research, innovation, and excited about challenges in the Swedish and European electric power systems? Are you analytical, inquisitive, and enjoying meeting new people? About Us At the Electric Power Systems unit, our project portfolio consists of research and innovation projects that combine technical perspectives - how electric power systems should be built, managed, and operated - and economic perspectives, including the development of the electricity market, regulation, and policy issues. In addition to our research projects, we also handle various customer assignments. Our projects range from short-term to multi-year engagements, often in collaboration with colleagues from other units within RISE as well as external national or international partners. Our team comprises 14 researchers, engineers, and project managers who enjoy collaborating. We represent several different nationalities, and our projects extend both within and outside Sweden's borders. Half of the team is based in Gothenburg and the other half in Stockholm. The location for this position is either Gothenburg or Stockholm. About the Electric Power System The electric power system plays a central role in the transformation of the Swedish energy system. A key factor driving this is the electrification of the industrial and transport sectors. RISE contributes to this development with analyses and solutions through creating and executing research, innovation, and development projects in collaboration with companies, universities, institutes, and the public sector. About the Role We are now looking for an experienced researcher who wants to help strengthen RISE's ability to execute, create, and drive projects that address the challenges of electric power system stability and resilience. Being a part of such projects offers an opportunity to get involved in a wide range of tasks, including: - Ideas creation through individual and team work – which problems are relevant? - Method development – how to solve the problem? - Project application development – how to attract experts around the formalized project idea and obtain the funding for it? - Power systems modeling and simulation – how to design relevant test systems and execute adequate simulations? - Detailed analysis of the observed simulation or analytical results – why do we get certain results and which ones are relevant? - Project management – how to organize the project resources? - Reporting results – how to adequately document the results through writing technical reports and scientific articles? - Networking and presenting through various meetings, seminars, conferences, etc. - how to spread the important results and messages? What you will do Cloud operations and infrastructure Cost optimization: analyse and optimize the cost of the cloud architecture on an ongoing basis Environment management: make structural improvements to cleanly manage multiple environments — test, production, and dedicated customer environments Infrastructure as code: build and maintain infrastructure using Terraform Maintenance: carry out regular maintenance activities, including software updates and resource upgrades Technical debt reduction: modernize the infrastructure, making use of the latest and most suitable Azure services Development environment and delivery Developer experience: improve the development environment so the team can prototype quickly and productionize just as fast CI/CD: develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines Observability: build and maintain the observability stack (e.g. Grafana) for monitoring, metrics, and alerting Security and device management DevSecOps and networking: apply DevSecOps practices and manage cloud networking and security controls, including firewall and WAF Device management: manage MDM through Microsoft Intune — device settings and central application deployment Who you are We are looking for someone with a keen interest, knowledge, and experience in the following areas: A cloud or platform engineer who can take operational ownership of the day-to-day under the direction of engineering leadership, and grow into a full cloud architecture role over time Eager to learn and grow — able to take direction on strategy and big-picture decisions while owning execution reliably Must-haves Microsoft Azure, hands-on Terraform and infrastructure as code Containers — Docker and Kubernetes CI/CD pipelines Observability stack such as Grafana Cloud networking and security fundamentals (firewall, WAF) and DevSecOps practices Nice to haves Endpoint management with Microsoft Intune Experience managing separate test, production, and dedicated customer environments Knowledge of industrial or production machinery — if you don't know much about CNC machines, we will teach you!
